all you guys talkin bout hard practices.. anyone every wrestled? ive been wrestling for 5years and i love the adrenaline rushes. but i can guarantee wrestling practice routines would blow any of your practices away. period.
My dad would back you up on this. He has played football, rugby, and wrestling, and said wrestling was the toughest of them all, with rugby and football tying for a close second.
Day 2 was the most I've ever been worked out in my life. Our coaches are all ex-college coaches for the most part, or they have been on championship high school teams. I came home and passed out on my kitchen floor. Tommorow I have a fucking double session. What is so hard about wrestling practice?
well, my warm ups and stretching at practice consist of 1 set of 3 different kinds of pushups, 20 in each set, then we do ab workouts for 6 minutes. and before practice officially starts you have to do 25 pull ups, 25 chin ups, and 10 laps around the wrestling room(half a good size auditorium). then we partner up and do drills non stop for about an hour, then take a 5 minute water break, then drill for another 45 minutes, then the last 15-20 or so minutes is conditioning which is usually doing suicides, pyramids(i dont want to explain this because it will take too long), or an exercise where we all run around the gym while two lightweights wrestle, and then the loser starts running again, the winner keeps wrestling, and whoever lost is replaced by person in the next weight. to be honest it varies, because they will have us running around the school with bricks in our hands some days, or running steps. depends what the coach wants us to do really..but above is pretty much an everyday summary minus anything sponaniously put in by a coach
Damn that makes our shit sound like cake. We had a double session today though which sucked real bad. Especially in the 90 degree heat.
i played football freshman and sophmore year to stay in shape for wrestling, but i just found my practices too boring cus everyone on our team is fuckin dumb and cant get serious. and it seemed like practice was only so long just so everyone got a chance and we were just standing around 70% of the time. was pretty lame.
