I kind of understand blackguards statement, but was that in favor or against mine? you christians in favor of accepting "jesus" are being extremely close minded, epiphany a lil less than jd4u
Not really... Jesus gave this message. And before someone says it, Jesus is very open minded. He loves everyone regardless, which is quite clear in the word. He never turned a soul away and often spent time speaking to unbelievers. We need rules and guidelines in society, because without it, all chaos would break loose. Parents set rules for their children, for their own well being. The Lord is the same way.
So how come Jesus [God] never turned anyone away, but God turns away hundreds of thousands every day when these nonbelievers die? They just get a chance on Earth? -- and to spite them God sends them to hell? --or is it the devil who takes them because God refuses to? If God's loves is infinite and his power infinite how come anyone has to go to hell? Is this all about God's Ego? Are we just his play things?
Play things? How ludicrous...clearly we are a food crop and are just about ripe and ready for harvesting. It states unequivocally in the bible that God is vain, and that is according to a direct quote taken from the big guy himself, by Moses I think.
The one's that are turned away are those who spent a life time ignoring God. Jesus said if you serch for me with all your heart, with and all your mind, and all your soul you will surly find me. Few really search for God. Many go to temple or church thinking by putting in some time they are doing God a favor, and in the end think their attendance will save them. And before you unequivocally attempt to quote scripture, please give a chapter and verse so we can get the real truth. I know of one guy who quoted me, and then cut my sentence in two which changed the whole meaning.
Jesus did tell the people in Matthew 5:20, that unless their righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. So you see, Jesus told everyone that they had to live for God or they would be turned away. God and Jesus are the same, and the day is coming when Jesus will turn most people away. Jesus wanted everyone to enter His Kingdom, but by their actions, these people obviously did not want Jesus. This is stated in second Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slackconcerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
let's see now, we've got an angry, violently vengeful god that is gone for the time being, but will one day return to wreak havoc and cause the suffering and destruction of those who don't side with him exclusively...humans as play things or a food source...and the only way to get in touch with this god is not through good works or meditation or godly living or even love, but by slavishly following the commands and rituals laid out in a mysterious, ancient book... i dunno, man. this scenario is sounding more and more lovecraftian by the minute. are you sure that's jesus you guys are talking about, and not cthulhu? http://www.locksley.com/cthulhu/index2.htm
In Matthew 9:12 Jesus speaks of the children of the kingdom, which were God's choosen people the Jews, and this is His statement concerning them. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. In the Old Testament it speakes about the time of the end. In Zechariah 12:9,10 God returns to defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. They are saved from the invadeing army, but the Jews become very upset when they discover who it is that saves them. 9. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one moureth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. The Jews will finally understand that the one they were searching for was Jesus Christ, who they put to death. Verses 11 through 14 explains the grief that will over come Israel at this realization. Zechariah chapter 12 is an end time prophecy. Just on of many.
Epiphany, Great post, I could not of said it better. Invitations have been sent out. Yet this world want's their own party, with their own rules. Rules and beliefs that often mock God, and pervert that which is good.
The reason is really simple. The requirement for entrance into heaven is that you must live a perfect life with out one sin. Not one evil mark on your record. Have you lived a life that perfect. I don't know anyone that could make that claim. Except Jesus Christ. And Jesus said He would be the blood sacrifice for the sins of the world. Making things right by yourself the best you can is not going to cut it. You can take as much responsibility for your sins as you want, but that is not going to make you perfect before God. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Words of Jesus.
Well you really need to understand the prophecies. God is coming back because man is on the verge of destroying the world. God is angery because the earth will be in turmoil as never before. As stated in second Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. He destroys those who are doing most of the killing, and they are also the one's who have not sided with Him. The flash point comes when Russia and her allies will move to destroy the Jewish state of Israel. You can read about this prophecy in Ezekiel chapters 36,37,38,39 and Zechariah 12 in the Old Testament. I believe this event is still about 30 years down the road.
God is looking for people who love Him, and not for people who will stab Him in the back, vote to murder His creation, and call Him a liar. Those who really seek God will find Him. That is God's promise to us. Atheists, Wiccans, and Pagans have rejected God's plan of salvation. If they knew God they would understand His plan.
I am a Born Again Christian, I have had encounters with demons. Believe me these things are real and Hell is a place you don't want to go to. And I don't care if you are standing on your feet or doing jumping jacks which you might be doing, avoid this place at all costs. The encounter I had was when I was 23 years old, some time ago. It all started as I really began to read the bible. This event really took me by surprise. The experienced lasted 6 months and ended when some other christians who knew what was going on commanded them to leave. One of them did, the other refused to and was burned up on the floor. One woman saw what happened. I and another person heard the screams. Find Christ while there is time. This is a true story, I would not post this before Christ if it were a lie.
Didn't know you felt only those ones were who get turned away... This pleases me to know you acknowledge that all of the good, sincere, devout, fervent followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Shamanism, etc. who have not spent a moment of their lives ignoring God will all be together in heaven. You surprise me pleasantly with this statement of love. I thought that by referring to one of the ten commandments, no Christian could honestly doubt its existance in the good book. I even gave Moses' name as a BIG hint for those Christians who didn't recall the ten commandments mention of His vanity. If need be, I can go find the chapter and verse if you still feel I am not right about the quote. And, again, I am sorry I did not paste the whole sentence that one time, in case you missed my original apology months ago, at the time.
Okay, so asking him to take them away makes it all better. I don't get it. If I was to believe anything of the sort, my first thought about what would happen at the pearly gates is that Jesus would let in those who refused to release the responsibility of paying for the sins they committed themselves. Those who gave in and offered to have another pay for their misdeeds, would be turned away. Since I don't believe in such a heaven, this is all just a 'what if' exercise. I figure that praying, " Thank you, Thy will be done.", should cover any possible entry requirements to heaven, if there is one though.
I only mentioned atheists, Wiccans, and Pagans, but by etc. I was referring to all humanity, both non-believers and believers of all faiths. I don't know God, nor do I know for fact any specifics of a plan that God has. I hope you are not inferring that I have stabbed God in the back, cuz tho my God has a deep patience and infinite forgiveness, He wouldn't let that go without a slap on the wrist. Not for the words, but for the intent.
First, I believe the story as the truth until I have reason to believe otherwise. I would not be shocked if they were the same person, though I do not get the reason someone would have two names.
