I think the most generous thing I have ever done was when my friend's surfboard snapped, and I gave him my other one. Note that this board was the very first custom shape that I have ever gotten myself, and it was still in really good condition.

My grandmother was furious with me, but I told her, hey, it's my surfboard, I will give it away if I want to.

In the end my friend gave me his skateboard that he doesn't use, so it ended up becoming a fare trade.

I don't have a lot of money to pay for meals or gas for someone else. But I do tend to do good deeds (hold open doors that kind of thing) or smile at people when I am walking around. I did give away an extra winter coat to someone in my apartment building last year after I retired. It was a nice one that I would have worn to work. I have winter jacket that I wear for dog walking and one that is slightly nicer if I need something that looks better. After my dog Sunny died (65 lb) I gave away his leashes to a friend who has a big dog. If I do have any extra money I donate to the Humane Society. Our local shelter is a no kill shelter and they only get by on donations and funds earned from services they provide.

To be honest( and yes I am being serious) I've tried this in the past, and I've wound up with insults. The truth is people are vain, twattish and cuntish.
I never do favours to expect sthg in return. I do them because I sort of thing that its the "right thing to do". Contributing to positivity rather than warlike chaos.

But yeah, I do someone a random act of kindness, and I get EXTREME cuntishness back.

I used to get mad at this, sometimes I still do. But the truth is, as a species we're not that smart, sort of in a trance a lot of the time. No better than animals, even tho we should ( do?) know better.

People live, die, and do a lot of shit in between. Wondering about people's ethical motivations is like taking "moral offence" at a dog because it tries to bite you. Some people say we all live in "one world". But I cant help but think "I'm glad some other people arent part of mine".
