Well, I texted with her today, and she said no, then I said I was going and we could laugh at the dancers like last year (and maybe join in), and she said that if she was going, she'd definitely be meeting up with me there .

And with all this water going around, it's hard to keep a clear head around here. I'm so friggin' giddy right now .

Updates:

Last night I'm sitting in my humble bedroom, thinking about crush #1, when a text message arrives, perfectly timed, from none other than Crush 1. The message said that she wasn't going to be able to make it to queerfest this Sunday (that's fine) because a huge drama has exploded between herself, a friend, and...her crush (not so fine).

I'm a little confused though, because I said to her that crushes tend to turn around and bite people in the bum, and she sent back that if it all blows up in her face, then perhaps I could comfort her with those "amazing-sounding pretzels [I'll] one day be famous for" [background info: I made pretzels the other day for lunch, the big baked ones, and I was talking to her at the time. We joked around about opening a pretzel shop, blah blah]. And when she couldn't sleep, I suggested the album thing [when I can't sleep, I think of an album I know and try to play it in my head, start to finish. Usually that puts me to sleep, and even if it doesn't, I get to listen to great music, rather than thinking too much about not being able to sleep]. Her reply to this was "...you're pretty cute and amazing, you know that?", and that she'd text me today and let me know if it worked.

Long story short (well, relatively short...), I guess she doesn't want my water after all . But even if she doesn't, she must really like me in a platonic way, so perhaps we're destined to be great, great friends. Who knows? Plus, it STILL means I can crush again! So it's not all bad!

Kinda disappointing for you guys though. You were all waiting on a soppy tale of blossoming true love .

Sounds to me like she has something going on but she's attracted to you, so she's flirting with you anyway...like a total guy.

 

you really get to know the soul of a person online. they don't have filters, fears or repercussions (unless they want to). all the masks have been removed. people can jsut be themselves and not deal with their body-image issues, their bad hair day, etc. they can just be themselves and relate to you on a level you rarely get when you're interpreting (and interpreting) someone's body language. there are unique problems associated with it, but the internet is very freeing. you can be honest and open in a lot of ways you can't be in your daily life.

She's decided not to enter into a relationship with Her Crush. They've decided neither is ready for it, despite their crushing on each other, so they've decided to stay casual and have a sort of open relationship.

This strikes me as really strange! If I liked someone and she liked me, I don't think I could be in an "open" relationship. I'd be wrought with jealousy. But to each his own.

But honestly, I'm thoroughly convinced that she's not into me, because I told her I had a similar situation, where I had a crush on someone, but it wasn't mutual, so I came out of it without a relationship, even if I did find a friend. I think she had no idea it was her, because she said it was such a pity it wasn't mutual, and that I deserved a mutual crush. Which wasn't "I'm madly in love with you, I want your sex/water!", but still nice, nonetheless. But DAMN was I convinced she was crushing on me/flirting with me up until then.

And that's a nice fantasy! We should design more emoticons for situations like that.
