Have you ever had to actually use 911 before? And what was your reason?

Just wondering how often crime happens where you live perhaps? Or when was the last time or how old were you when or if you ever called the police for help? Or called 911 for any emergency help? Think only time I used it was when I had my 2 car accidents? I did call 911 first thing for those and reported I was involved in a car crash collision. Other than that, I don’t think I’ve ever had to call the cops on another person before or had to report anything bad to the police in my life? Have you ever had to do it??

I called once when I was rear-ended by a drunk. Damn they towed that guy's truck away super fast, leaving the remains of my car behind. At least they took the perp off to jail... and he paid for the repairs to my micro car, a Honda Civic (from before they became a full sized sedan car).

I was on vacation doing laundry for my RV bedding clothing pets. So I show up its a fairly nice area and the police are there talking with a homeless man have no idea why. Just about done two hours late the homeless man is back inside the laundry matt and digging through a trash can and pulls out a BIG kitchen knife from the trash. I called 911 told them my story and what I saw or at least I tried to when the questioning turned to me and why I was there and still there two hours later! I felt like I was being interrogated!

Several other times I called and felt like my call either did not matter or I was now a suspect! I really cant recall calling 911 for help and got it! And with people these days suing people that try and help them I will never ever be calling or helping!

Sometime around 2015 as my son's 1/2 brother and 2 friends were coming up to the house they got surrounded by about at least 15 gangbangers looking to stomp the shit out of them.
Grabbed the shotgun and the phone, told the cops they better arrive before I get it loaded or all they're going to need are ziplocks and chalk when they get there.

It's amazing how fast they can move when properly motivated

I've called 911 several times. A structure fire, a couple of MVA's, a couple of domestics, a home invasion once.
Fair disclosure; I was an Emergency Medical Dispatcher; if you called 911 for a medical emergency, I was the voice on the other end of the line.

Regardless of where you live, crime happens 24/7 non stop.

Everywhere that your body navigates to and rests in daily 24/7 probably billions.. perhaps trillions of people have died on that spot..

Since the beginning of the world or close to it there have always been crime of every sort.

I always call the cops whenever I see accidents, domestic heated arguments, violence and cruelty towards animals, fights breaking out, I have called the cops on a person that didn't look like he was alive...he was face down on the payment, I call the cops on neighbors especially those who I haven't seen in awhile and live alone.

I have called the cops on people passing out, or seeming like they're about to, I have called the cops on people that linger in one spot and seem like they need help.

    I haven't been threatened or anything...yet...by anyone...but if I were...I hope that I would call the cops...

I haven't witnessed anyone being murdered or being attacked to call the cops ...yet..hope that I never see that .but I'll call the cops..

I felt badly for the homeless guy lingering on my steps for almost 6 hours. I called the cops only because he seemed sickly..

I was mortified and really depressed because I thought they would put him in their cars and take him somewhere....

    They didn't.

Firstly, they told him that the people steps he were on didn't want him there and called them . (Which made me very sad and depressed because I'm sure that society cast him out and he wasn't "wanted" anywhere)

I wish they hadn't had told him that. Telling him and reminding him that he didn't belong.. must have been heartbreaking for him)

I only called because he looked sickly.

Secondly, his legs and feet were slightly swollen, and his sneakers were almost destroyed due to wear and tear ...so his heel of his foot was touching the ground.

He had problems getting up and walking.

He looked to be in his 60s

They basically told him to leave, told him where a shelter was, and walked him to the bus stop..

They radioed the bus driver, and left him to wait on the bus alone at the stop.

I'm sure that he was further embarrassed and humiliated by being on the bus with others .

    He looked soo defeated.

    That broke my heart.

Idk if I will ever call on a homeless person again.

The last time I called the cops was when I saw some lady getting abused by a man.

He kept hitting her and punching her...dragging her from one side of the street to another..

Her face jaw nose was bloody swollen and changing color
