Have you ever been bitten by sand fleas?

  1. They are surely irritating. All over your face, arms, any exposed skin. I experienced it in South Carolina. By the coast

Yes, same. Same location. I've only experienced them once, my friend and I stayed up all night on the beach to watch the sunrise and they started biting right at sunrise. They were awful, our feet were swollen and red for days

South Carolinians call them no see ums

We call the Marsh flies, they hurt and aero guard seems to attract them, but they slow too so easy to squish

When I was stationed in Panama back in '92, the post I was stationed on was close to the ocean. Sand fleas would come out in swarms early in the morning during physical training formation and tear up the insides of our legs and ankles. Pretty miserable!

  6. I had to deal with them for 11 weeks. Thing is, they would not let us swat them away.
If you killed one, you’d be in big trouble
