I've only lived alone once. That was about 6 years ago. One thing that really stuck out to me was how much I feared that I would chock and no one would be around to help. I think I was more cautious while dining when I first moved in.

I seem compelled to mention though that I once saw an educational video that described that a person can give themselves the Heimlick Maneavure by thrusting one's self against a table or counter top.

That wasn't a very good description and I debated writing it. Anyway, it may be a good idea for everyone to learn how to do The Heimlick Manuever on others and on themselves. (Spelling???)

I've only ever choked once, on a potato square. I learned to chew quickly after that.

    What tyres said.
But about choking....it crossed my mind once or twice for a second but never had a real fear. I would just run to a neighbor or do the chair maneuver.

That’s a perfectly normal irrational fear along with eating expired food, walking over sidewalk grates, falling down the stairs, flushing the airplane toilet and getting sucked out,
there’s someone behind the shower curtains, receiving a phone call and the number doesn’t show up on caller ID, and there’s a dead body in the trunk of your car

If you look at a normal wooden chair. Look at the back and fall right on top of it as if you wanted to get the wind knocked out of you. Let your self fall into a heimlich maneuver. Look it up if your really worried.

It can work, but might not work if you are obese.

I have had this conversation before with people at work. Some people are strait up to big to heimlich on.

I told them well what if i just punched the upper stomach in uppercut style. People at work are like NO

Well seriously how the fuck we supposed to get it out. Knock the wind out of her.

happiest times in my life i've lived completely alone, and right now, for as long as it can last, is one of them.

as for fear of choking, yes of course i've always been very careful about that.
my parents were paranoid, not only of me doing so, but of themselves as well.
so yah, i kind of grew up with that, and it could be the way i go, obviously i hope not.

but as for connecting the two things, nope,
it IS possible to hiemlic yourself,
just gotta be sure and remember how to do so,
or learn if you haven't yet.

(and carefully chew and remove them, anything that might have sharp little bones in it, like fish or some other small creatures)
(oh yah, and never eat anything that's bigger then your head!)

Nobody gets a chance to choke you if you answer the door with a .45 auto in hand.
Take two steps back, if they are still reaching they are in your home and have shown intent to cause harm.
When you shoot them, blood will be in your home.
Justification for self defense. Call the cops, then go heat up a Hot Pocket in the microwave. That much excitement can make a man hungry.
