i first smoked up when i was 13, nearly 14 or something. went through college, took the totally wrong subjects for me, smoked up daily, and now im unemployed. yeah, sounds a bit bad, but weed's made me slow down my life immensly. i look around to my peers from school 'nd they're all rushing through college, uni, etc. i'll not graduate from college till im 21 or something, but i'll get there in the end. life's a race, and im walking :)

p.s. greengirl, yeah, sweet dreads (y)

    Seconded.

The only thing I've noticed is short-term memory loss, but I'm not sure if thats just because I'm more about having fun and making the most of my time these days instead of getting hung up on details and stuff like I used to do. Hmm.

ive been using cannabis for about 5, maybe 6? years on a regular basis.

cannabis use has expanded my desire for learning.
i am more creative in my problem solving, especially when im using.
cannabis has also helped me dissolve the barriers of preconceived notions i had about the world and the way things/people work.
helped me challenge my own thoughts and belief system/has provided insight necessary to do this.

then again, when i use heavy (more than 4-5g/day), i lose track of my thoughts, and i can't recall words/names that i normally could. and i lose touch with 'reality' and go off into another place in my mind sometimes (even when not high) and just zone out really hard.

This is pretty much the way I feel about it. The only negative aspect I've experienced is my short term memory being a little dull, and I'm probably a little bit lazier, but then again I had issues with laziness before I ever started smoking.

I feel that my cannabis use has made it so that I learn better. used to I would simply dismiss information that didn't fit in my reality tunnel, but now I consider it and change my mind. everything is also more interesting, so I seek out more information and so learn more through that.

I feel that I comprehend and assess info better now as well, as I can see connections that I wouldn't have seen before. I can also get a better view of the big picture in situations.

as feel I assess situations much better now. I notice more in my environment. I also better understand psychological/sociological processes much better, and so understand the reasons behind peoples actions.

I definetly find cannabis to be beneficial in a myriad of ways, but as far as "learning" as far as school goes it doesn't really have any effect. Although when it comes to understanding certain topics (like religions/spirituality, philosophy, psychology) and understanding what people like terrence mckenna, rupert sheldrake, ect. ect. are talking about it has helped

I remember at one point when all i did everyday was smoke weed, i would forget everything. i mean everything. i would see one of my friends and i would hesitate because i forgot their names. man and they'd get all mad [well at least the girls did]

and then i couldn't remember simple things either. it didn't affect my learning just hindered my memory.

it was more or less fun

Weed has definitely changed my mental ability for the better; I am far more sensitive and introspective since I started. But I had my first hit from a bowl when I was 22. I don't know how it would effect the education and development of someone younger.

Nope. I go to Umass Amherst and I'm still physically active. I haven't smoked much recently because of a dry spell on campus.

I personally have never had it affect any learning for me.. yes.. it has made me lazy.. in the fact that i'd smoke a bowl then not do what i wanted to get done.. but thats why i prioritize... get my shit done.. then get high.. long as marijuana is not consuming your life.. i dont see how its going to affect it in a negative way... i think that goes for most drugs.. long as you dont put it in front of the other things you NEED to do.. its not a problem
