I don't disagree. I would too. But they tried to evecuate during Rita in 2005.100 people died during the evacuation. Evacuating a city with 6 million people is harder than it may sound.

 

If hundreds of thousands of people tried to evacuate at once the death toll probably would have been much higher. Some of the interstates completely flooded within a matter of hours.

hoodrats? i know that some people are obtrusely inconciderate. mostly alcohaulics. and not entirely homeless, impoverished or persons born in the 'wrong' bodies either.

Gas has went up $1.00 here within a few hours due to a pipeline being shut down from Harvey. Gross.

 

Irma is forming to follow Harvey. We might know next week where in the USA that will hit, if anywhere.

 

I'm sad to see the victim blaming going. The same thing happened with Katrina. It's the persons fault for not leaving. In fact they are probably bad people anyway.

 

I think it has everywhere. And I feel really shitty about being irritated about that.

 

It is a shame. It's weird. I've noticed that people seem to react to something terrible when it happens to one or two people. When it happens to thousands? Forget it. It's like we don't know how to have compassion for that many people.

i dont know what europe is like but on this side of the world it seems to be the trend that the poor just keep having huge litters and the rich just work and work to pay alll the taxes to supply the welfare system ..not much time to have kids

 

I was trying to form an argument to be sympathetic, and I am having difficulty. Texas is known to be inhumane to the rest of the country during natural disasters. I tried thinking to myself that we should be better than Texas, but then I realized the people of Texas are the state.
