Colorado RIver at 54 ft. Flood stage is about 26 ft. This storm really is epic. The initial denial is similar to people saying that Superstorm Sandy was just media hype and a government conspiracy. http://kxan.com/2017/08/28/colorado-river-now-expected-to-crest-at-51-3-feet-in-la-grange/
In a situation like this, who gives a fuck about looting? The shit is all going to go to waste if it isn't looted. People need to do what they can to survive.
I'm far away from the storm, but thanks. Houston is in Harris county which is larger than New Jersey and has 6 million people. 30% of it is underwater.
No. Houston may finally be past most of the rain, but the storm snuck back into the Gulf, is picking up more moisture, and then apparently going to come into East Texas and Louisiana tommorow. The National Weather service actually had to add new colors to account for the amount of rainfall. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/08/28/546776542/national-weather-service-adds-new-colors-so-it-can-map-harveys-rains
I have some friends on FB I met in Texas and they're all over it with posts. They're okay there city is flooded major but they house is on high ground and it's okay for them but they feel bad as they're a very small %
i caught the tail end of an interview today on cnn that was kind of funny stupid prissy reporter chick started asking dumb questions to a black hothead who just went crazy on her during live tv
she starts off waiting for her 15 seconds of fame with a smile and then the victim bitch attitude slowly kicks in.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2Cw-J0s_-c
How the fuck is she looking for 15 seconds of fame when they approached her and stuck a mic in her face? The woman's reaction was justified given the circumstances. Fuck the media and their phony "concern." Disgusting pieces of lying shit!
I can't say I see a victim bitch attitude I see a really upset mom dealing with an extremely stressful survival situation. Everyone has their breaking point. Cant really say I would be very sunny and cheerful either after losing my home to a flood.
Can't really blame her. I have no idea what she must be going through, but it did appear she agreed to be interviewed.
I guess that's why i liked the vid where the guy tries to catch a fish in his living room with the people filming it laughing and cheering in the background so much When life gives you lemons... But maybe they have awesome insurance
Staying in a shelter, sleeping on a cot is not fun. In 1970 my then husband, dog and I got stuck on a highway in a blizzard. There had been an accident a few miles ahead of us and we were sitting in the car for hours. Eventually emergency vehicles came and we were able to get back to the previous town and given shelter in a fire station. We only had to do that one night. I can't imagine doing that for who knows how long. We had not lost all our belongings, our home or our car. In essence our night was an inconvenience with little to no sleep. I suppose I should not be surprised but it does stun me how some people here want to turn Harvey and the hardships people are going through into a joke. Must be something wrong with me that I don't see this as the least bit funny.
I imagine most people probably run through the whole gamut of emotions in situations like this. That video was awesome and I'm sure they are really cool people but I'm also sure they've had their moments where they cried or lost it a little too
I am truly shocked that you would have this kind of attitude in the face of what that woman is dealing with. This is not just an inconvenience...this is her and her children's lives, and it sounds as if they just barely squeaked by alive. I think she began calmly but the more and more she was being asked those stupid questions, the less control she had of her emotions. I think you are absolutely 100% wrong about her. My heart goes out to her and those like her. I think she is human...which of course is something some people have a problem accepting...that normal people have emotions that they sometimes can't help but express in times where their lives and the lives of their children are in danger. I had to quote this since in my mind it is one for the history books - I agree with you.
look at her in the beginning all smiles and grins just waiting to get on tv then she goes kanye when she realized she has an audience does she look like she standing in a line waiting for food? im surprised she didnt raise her arms and yell "hands up dont shoot"
I think that woman is an excellent mother, and someone that should be admired for keeping her head together enough to keep herself and her children alive those dayS being stranded, with no help. That would be a hell of a situation to be in, and then be quizzed and interviewed about later. I'm glad I saw that video, and I commend her. My God.
Having to clean up after 2-floods.. Id just rather not be bothered by news crews. Unless they are shoveling mud by my side. Get the fuck away .. However, I see that lady willing to talk. But also the news troll pushing for further story.
