I haven't read all the posts yet. But I did finish the book. My 16 dd, her friends, my 14 yr old ds and I went to a Hogsmead Village Festival the day before the release. Moon (my 16 yr old) won second prize in the Hermione look alike contest.

We are very excited.

Oh the ending..........(weeps softly.)

 

He's not a traitor, I am convinced he's not.. I already posted why in an earlier message in this thread (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2491649/1/)... Dumbledore knew there was no other way, not after drinking that potion and being up there with three adult DE's and all... and this way at least Snape could go on. If he hadn't done it, they'd both have died, and probably Malfoy too.

Regulus Black! We may not know a middle initial for him, but it fits with the fact he turned on the Dark Lord in the end, and also among all the things they found in Grimmault Place there was a strange locket no one could open... Btw, we'll probably get confirmation on this sooner than in the next book; in Dutch the guy's called 'Zwarts' so if the Dutch translation in November has different initials, that'll be a definite tip-off

 

that makes so much sense! i was debating in my head whether or not it was a relation of Sirius that had taken the cruciux (sp?). It would be very cool to think that both Black brothers were good guys.

myranya i read your story and that does make sence. at the end of chapter two when they are sealing the sealing the charm and she say if he will carry out the task if draco can do it and his hand twitches-that said right there that he didn't really want to do it. but i was wondering before that if snape had turned some where in the middle of the year or if he really was on voldemorts side all along. what you said makes sence but it is definitally played out so that their is all of the evidence of snape being on either side and that is designed to keep us guessing over the years until the 7 book comes out. but also this series just keeps getting darker and darker and if snape is actually on voldemorts side that would be a good way to show how serious this thing is that you don't even know who is on your side anymore.

 

yeah i read that one about regulus i was just trying to think of other possibilites. can anybody thing of anyone besides regulus cuz i can't but regulus just seems to obvious.

 

Right it probably is Regulus Black!! I hadn't tought about him but it all makes sense... I can't wait for the next book to find out! Does anybody else think there's gonna be more than one book after The Half-Blood Prince?

I read your story, and I really don't know what to think about it... I mean, all that hate on his face described in the book when he killed him... I really don't know, but it could be true, but then, what will happen to him? He might never be believed as you said... this definitely will mess everything up now though... story getting even more complicated and dark... but I still adore it!

All that the deceased ranted about was love being the strongest thing. So if the murderer wasn't a traitor, the scene is set for him to help Harry defeat Voldemort.....love wins.

Nah, I think it'll be one, she's been always pretty clear about that, there would be seven books. Think she even said she expected the last to be a little shorter than OOP, even.

Thank you About how he looked; well, how would *you* look if you had to do anything like that? Of course Harry explained it as hate & revulsion for the Headmaster, but it could just as easily be hate & revulsion for what he had to do. And I sorta think someone will still learn the truth, now; this was what I wrote immediately after reading the book when I was feeling a bit depressed by it all too, but I think the Headmaster probably left word somewhere about what they'd agreed on, to make sure any information he'd give would still be believed. Not sure on this last thing though, maybe he'll have to give any help anonymously from now on (maybe they'll think it comes from Draco?).

But, how could the last book be even shorter than The Order Of The Phoenix, if Harry doesn't go back to Hogwarts, there's gonna have to be at least one more book to describe his 7th year... his graduation... I mean it's so important!! Unless of course he doesn't go back EVER... but that would suck since he wants to become an auror!! (lol I'm so obsessed it's terrible! )

And something still bothers me about S killing D: why was D pleading S? Was he pleading so S would kill him more quickly then? I DON'T GET IT!! I mean I think your story has to be true, it has to be that way because D couldn't so naibe to trust S if there was no reasons to, I mean he's supposed to be the wisest wizard or one of them at least, so...

But maybe, just maybe D is pleading with S, because he knows that killing him is the most difficult thing that S has ever had to do for the sake of the Order of the Phoenix/goodies etc etc. So the pleading is for S to do this absolutely awful task ( killing D ) which they have previously agreed upon if they got into this situation????

God I just can't wait for the next book already...

 

I agree ......sooo looking forward to the next book, by the way Penny I saw a boxed set of the first four Harry Potter books in french in a local charity shop.....but I expect you already have them

someone said up there that he must have left information of what he was doing with someone one well what about his portrait in his old office. i mean mcgonagal will be in there all the time now so he would be able to just tell her, but that would be too easy for it to just happen like that. so either the portait for some reason wouldn't be able to say anything or else....

ok, here's my theory, what if D and S somehow swapped places? I mean, the last part, between S and Harry would sort of complicate the theory somehow, but if S was going to die anyway, maybe? I'm just so so sad, D can't be dead :0(

But yea, I don't think he'll be going back ever, which would be so awfull. How can the book be shorter, I mean, if the whole thing between H and G doesn't get resolved I'll be so upset. I'm such a geek, but I love the books way too much!

it seemed clear to me at the end of the book that harry wasn't going to go back to school and neither were ron and hermione even if it does reopen. i'm sure that they will be stopping by the castle a few times during the next book for information and such and i wouldn't be suprised if the final battle took place at hogwarts.

and i highly doubt to the point where i will just say no that snape and dumbledore did not trade places. dumbledore is dead. he would have sacrificed himself so that snape could stay alive.
