I didn't complain about anything, as a matter of fact. I simply mentioned a time when some people who have never seen a dreadlock or a joint in person freaked out and had to tweet all their friends when they found someone that they, in their innocence, could presume some sort of marijuana cleric.
And you know what these people have seen because....? You're sitting on their shoulder a la Jiminy Cricket? Peeping through their windows?
That is simply absurd sounding. It's not hard to reverse steriotype people based on how they steriotype you. And aside from what was obvious to me, the next time I was in the store, one of these same employees started a rather friendly conversation about my hair, they clearly had NO positive or negative ideas on dreads, other than that they where a novelty and made me just like bob marley, only white.
i normaly get "ur dreads are coming apart aye" and they are usually smiling when they say that and when i say no they are saposta b like that their faces drop, its rather funny. i get random girls saying i like ur dreads and they suit u, dnt even ask if they can touch them they just seem to do it lol. iv had a few teachers at school assuming i smoke weed and do drugs just coz i have dreads. the other dreadheads at my school have shorter dreads then me so i get them saying " man i wished i waited i love ur dreads they look mean that long"
Does anyone else wish beautifulwarrior would shut the fuck up and stop trying to start shit? Gazza, you'll get the "falling apart thing" for serveal months, but it gets better. lol @ "mean"
^^^I agree as little drama as possible would be ideal. On a seperate matter. A lot of the people who comment on my hair usually end up saying something to the effect of "you know your going to have to cut them off when you dont want them". It would seem the only time people care about my hair stylings is when its dreadlocks.
For me, those are the same people who tell me I have to stop washing it, and that's why my dreadlocks aren't working. Or that if I get this stuff called bees wax, I can melt it in while never taking another shower, and that would fix stuff.
i think it really depends on where you live a lot of the time. most of the people that see my hair are more curious and don't already have preconceived notions..
It's a shame we have to live in a world where society forces you to cut your hair to use a computer or to have a regular job. Back in Spartan times if you were a male with short hair you'd be ignored. Only weak pathetic men had short hair. The rest ofthe warrior state let their manes loose. Ahhh how visually beautiful. Men should only have long hair.
it's been yeeeaars since I've had short hair, but I think men and women should wear their hair however they feel is best. Got a weird comment the other day from a coworker. He's an older dude, real cool, but asked me if people grow locks to resemble lengthy nugs. Haha, we talked more about it and decided that if anybody ever ask me why I went with dreads that it's a must that I tell em only to resemble thy holy nuggywugs.
I use to get more shit when I just had long hair actually lol I've had long hair since about 12 or 13 though, I've always loved it
But I could have sworn you where attacking me using all the drug related knowledge you gained from your room mates drug use? No? Didn't think so.
Roor you're young and I get that. So I'm going to politely correct you. Once. 1. I don't do roommates. Not my thing. I said friends. 2. It was ironic that in a thread about being harrassed for our hair choices she said men should only wear their hair one length. I commented. 3. I wasn't clear on my point about your Wendy's situation and its caused you undue upset. My apologies. 4. You said you and your friend were made fun of for being high because you had dreads. While that is is likely it is also equally likely that they were poking at your dreads AND you being high because you were actually high. Not everyone is as composed as they might think they are. Not to mention there can be several indicators. Bloodshot eyes...smell...so on and so forth.

I always have issues. Some pages take forever to load or just time out. I am doing this from my phone though..so that might be why there's a double post.
Knowing that given it's range it is relatively unrelated to this matter, I will ignore your implied attack concerning my age, and answer in a format similar to that of your post. 1. I do see now, that you said classmates. I tended to assume you lead some sort of almost normal college life, which often entails drug using roomates/classmates. They are closely related. My apologies if you're that offended. 2. And? I didn't confront you about that. Though now that you mention it, you commented on a comment, thereby associating yourself with that opinion, as though you had something to do with it's forging. 3. Well thank you, though your next point slightly nulls the meaningfulness. 4. You do seem to have revised your opinion to be considerably more balanced and less blatantly offensive and aggressive towards myself. Slightly better. "Nug" is short for "nugget", a slang descriptor for a cluster of (generally prime) marijuana flowers. Now you know.
