all the old house members exept a few old timers...have gone and do not post..simply because they do not know what to post...

So, shall I start the discussion? What to talk about. That we are all eternal? That we wake up? The Hindi explain that this life is Maya, illusion. That the other life is the real life. Some day we each go there. We wake up. We leave the dream state and become the real life.

That's one of my favorites. Many hippies know most of the true secret ancient wisdoms. Most other people don't even care to know them. Happy to just live day to day. Never even knowing that there is anything to know.
George Harrison wrote a song about that. "They don't know. They can't glimpse the truth. Are you one of them?" From Within You and Without You, on the Sargent Pepper Album.

That saddens me.

 

I am bit sceptic really about the fact==is there an afterlife or not?we will see...how can it be proven?
there have been lots of discussions about karma,our souls after death,and whether our spirit lives on?or not...
I think it's often more a thing of Hindu beliefs,re-incarnation of our soul etc..
I agree with Kenny's comment...he is right about this...

Of course nothing can be proven. Perhaps if 400 years from now humans can travel from one dimension to another dimension, even then they would still have to find the correct Afterlife dimension. So then they could go into the "Afterlife" check it all out and return here and then tell us all about it.

Way before this could ever happen, someone might invent a radio to communicate with the "other side". Some type of scientific proof. After that everyone could buy a Smart other side phone and either talk or text. LOL

But no scientific proof in our lifetimes. Although there are a lot of NASA scientists who believe in a "Creator". The vastness of the universe and all of that.


Personally, I believe that the ultimate proof is LOVE. I believe that LOVE it's self confirms GOD. And that GOD exist. But this Creator must be greater and larger then a thousand universes. Not the generic concept that the average person has.

Think about it. Humans and the world could function just find without LOVE ever existing. Sexual reproduction without LOVE and the world would get alone just fine. To me the very existence of LOVE considers of a proof that there is a GOD. The GOD LOVES. That Creator made this plan for our evolution to include humans who have LOVE.

As far as a continuing existence after death?

I watched the movie days ago but couldn't find my way back to the thread. hehe Lost, stoned, goofy...

Interesting movie and I have heard the theory before. I have been taking a Practical Spirituality class for a while and we discuss topics like this video. My background and raisin' is Christian. Went to Methodist Church, which was a very tolerant church and my mom was very open minded, and a forward thinker. So it wasn't fire and brimstone and focused more on the New Testament.

If one believes in heaven and hell, and you are supremely happy right now, maybe this is your heaven. For those who have a horrible life here and now...maybe it is their hell.

I find it hard to even fathom WE are only 80 some years and then it is done. The universe is just way too vast for that kind of thinking. I believe we are energy and that energy never dies, only this physical body dies. I do believe we go on and on...and I also believe in you reap what you sow, sin, karma...whatever name ya want to put on it.

Beyond that...heck I have no clue.

Anyhow I obviously believe that our existence goes on, but I really don't think it's like the cliché concepts of heaven that most people have. I think that it would be much more cosmic and nebulous. Energy and Love. Not brick and mortar.

When they say, "on Earth as it is in Heaven." I view that as our task, here and now. To make on Earth as it is in Heaven.

hi guys.. it's half term & I've been busy doing 'granny days'.. I taught my 8 yr old grandson to sew one, day then he expressed an interest in learning to knit, so I got the materials, & he began, but I realized I made it look easy.. I remember the struggle at that age just learning how to hold the needles.. that stuff was taught (to girls) in school back in the day & I wonder now how teachers had the patience to start all over again each year..
it was my birthday on valentines day & my son in germany booked to pay a surprise visit, but the pilots went on strike & he couldn't leave the country.. bummer..
I'm glad you're on the mend Tiger.. the days are getting brighter. very early stirrings of spring.. :daisy:
