@Riverblue... i am in the Northeast of Belgium...not so far from the Dutch border... both Maastricht or Eindhoven are about 45kilometers from my home town.. I do love the Netherlands a lot.. :bandana: did you live in Amsterdam? @Moonglow==pick yourself a room here...glad to see you posting in here... that goes certainly as well for Deacon and Mally..about roamy..she will come back.. :bulb:
hi hippies I've just come in from feeding the doves.. they like sunflower seeds in winter & ignore all the grain that they like in summer.. lovely to see the house having some life breathed into it.. right Tiger.. I could see for myself what happened to my potein, & you deserve the sore head!! next time I have some delivered I'll keep it a secret..
@old tiger - actually, where I lived was closer to Eindhoven. I think it was on the outskirts because I was right next to a horse farm, but 15 minutes on the bicycle brought me the regional international school in the city. I saw some beautiful sunrises there - normally I'm not a fan of sunrises over a city but Eindhoven is an exception, that and some cities in New Jersey on this side of the Atlantic. I miss the flat open spaces sometimes. I miss even more how relaxed everyone on that side of the Atlantic was, in general. Belgium was quite similar to Holland, if I remember correctly from the few times I was through - well known for chocolate, I think it was? @mvmcd, we have this big bush system next to our house, completely undeveloped for about three lots to the side, and there's this gigantic community of birds that lives in it, so whenever we put food out it's kinda like watching sharks condense on chum
Busy as hell lately, and my skin condition hasn't been treating me the kindest, but it's been far worse. So, I'm okay. Thanks for asking How about you, scorpio?
My worse complaint is that I've been fighting off the flu or pneumonia for at least two weeks now. Lots of water to make it pass and lots of vitamin C and multi-vitamins and other stuff. So, you know what it feels like to feel a cold coming on? Well, I've managed to be feeling a cold coming on for three weeks now. Nothing severe, but just draggy and I'm a slight mess. Last night was the worst. Slight fever and I couldn't stop coughing and I had a lung full of never-ending liquid to get rid of. I'm fine today. So, it is so weird. I'll be fine because I'm far to positive to let anything crimp my lifestyle. So, I'm not really complaining. I'm just stating what's-up. And that it's pretty bazaar. Philosophical discussion : Do you feel that it would be better to suffer through fighting off a cold if it never want away, and to fight for 2, 3, 4 weeks? or to just have the cold for a week and to be done with it? Just curious.
I really wouldn't know, unless seasonal allergies are like fighting a cold, in which case I'd say deal with the cold for a week and be done with it. I have a kickass immune system though (when it comes to fighting stuff off, anyway) so I couldn't say for sure, but I think it'd be easier on you overall to have a really off few days and then get back to normal, instead of being slightly off for a while, because that starts to grate at you and make everything worse
I agree with riverblue on this issue..i got a serious bronchitis a while ago... like Kenny said vitamin C is a thing which helps, and garlic is never bad either.. i did not go for a doctors consult...I usually fight it off myself by taking rest, keeping warm and drinking lots of fluid.. if the lungs are congested a cough syrup might help but I reckon my immune system is not what it used to be... i also think that a grog helps=i warm up a cup of rhum(or potein from Maura)(joke)+add honey and ginger and lemon..then drink it warm.. Kenny,we all wish you a speedy recovery and it will be allright after a while.. I got a book with all kind of remedies==grandmothers advice... sometimes I look into it...it can help...we also have Dr.Vogel remedies..just google for it.. :book: I do wish eveybody in this house a good health.. :bulb: http://www.avogel.co.uk/

old tiger, natural remedies tend to be the best ones for us. Most medication these days will hurt you almost as much as (if not more than) it will help you, if given time and/or the right circumstances. Modern meds do have their uses, but I tend to think organic is the better way to go, if you can. I oughta do more research, actually...
Hey old tiger, just heard about an anti-terror raid that ended in two suspects dead and more detained in Belgium. I know the media here is dramatizing the seriousness of the militants and the situation overall, but all the same, wishing you well
Gee, I do hope that Tiger is alright. Hope the terrorists didn't kidnap him. I'd have to fly to Belgium and kid some but and set him free, so that he can get back to his dancing. Really. My illness is way better now. Thanks, ALL. Who's planning the next party here?
Lets get a Possie up to go save Tiger ! I got a bb gun and a penknife with a tool for getting stones out of Horses Hooves I will bring with me !
yes,River...radical Islam is on the go over here in France,Belgium,Europe.. what we have seen in Paris will probably have a backlash to other folks who wanna get rid of their frustrations... and then they will commit other extremist actions against what they call the infidels.. I do not believe in religions as such...religions are the opium of the people... the best religion is being a hippie... :bandana: if we are good to one another..we will get goodness back... not so easy in this world...I believe this world is lost...it's going down the drain.. pity really..because I love LIFE..
Yeah... kinda like what happened over here in Ferguson. A bunch of out-of-staters came in, made a big deal of the situation without hearing any of the facts, and destroyed half the town whilst rioting and professing their love of Ferguson and hatred of the police. Meanwhile, who had to clean up after the chaos? And that wasn't even a religious issue. I would so agree with you if it weren't for the fact that, like in all other religions and movements, people would find a way to get hard up about it. Goodness knows when I was younger and didn't quite get it yet I started down that path myself. I believe you, though... if only more people got it. I think there's hope yet. Maybe not for important and well-known figures, or those who aspire to be, but there's still a fair amount of good people out there, hiding under rocks, in burrows in the ground, up in the trees... hard to find, but they're out there
Yeah you're right … and I have to ask myself, why are they all hiding under rocks, in burrows in the ground, up in the trees... What's with THAT? Back in the 60s they all dressed up in bright colors and were promenading up and down the boulevards to be making the scene. Now they are all held up in the outbacks. We need to be dancing in the Streets. Chang the world.
Kenny & Tiger.. I'm glad you're both well again.. it's that time of year for ailments.. as you say Tiger.. being a hippie is the best religion.. live & let live, tolerance of each others funny ol' ways.. Love & Peace.. :daisy:
being a hippie is the best religion. Yeah, that's what the Church of the Good Earth was all about. Getting people off of the street and feeding then and getting them to participate. All while having a party. Maura, let's you and me wear bright clothes and flash up and down the streets. Again.
