Hi,

I am new to this site and I love it! I looked through it for a few weeks before I finally joined in July. I'm still randomly looking through different forums hoping to find some new friends. I am not a "facebook/twitter" user, those forums don't really speak to me. I don't have a cell phone or do any kind of texting either. I do use email, although that is either work related or when signing petitions, so please bear with me as I learn new skills while using this forum. I live in south central Indiana & would love to find some friends, not limited to, but especially who live close to me, have similar interests & who I might actually get to meet & hang around with. I'm an avid animal lover! I love the outdoors, HIKING in the forest with my DOGS & camping. I love & respect the earth, plants & again animals. I am open minded & my views are mostly what people call "liberal" but I'm not the type to get into a shouting match over my views vs your views. I do believe in freedom of speech/belief even if I totally disagree. I love music. My favorite cd at present is Neil Young & Crazy Horses' - "Psychedelic Pill", I LOVE the guitar licks. No one else plays like that, I just can't stop listening to it. I love watching movies, just about anything but especially sci-fi & comedy. I guess that's enough for now.

I got 2 cats and a few dogs here..and a crazy goat who knibbles on my leather sandals sometimes..
well..like so many newcomers on here..they read this thread...they do like it...but that's about it..
they vanish into thin air...why is that?what are they afraid of?there are some luvly people in this house..
I recently went for colouring my left arm tattoo=mostly flowers..
on my right arm however...colouring will be done on 30th September...
it's a lotusflower design,I believe a lotus flower is a symbol of peace,tranquility..
any tattoo lovers here?

The lotus tattoo is excellent, I love it & color tats are always the coolest!

We, my husband & I, have 3 dogs at present all from rescues. Being crazy
in love with animals of course, I feed the birds, raccoons & sometimes
opossums around our home. I started feeding the latter as a "bribe" to keep
them out of my bird feeders - it helps but not totally. It's fun watching them,
especially the babies. They know me so they wait for me to come out & follow
me to the woods where I feed them. I initially started feeding them closer to
our house so we could watch them from our window. Then I got worried about
them, the squirrels & the chipmunks trying to get into our house - so I moved the
feeding area further away.

i heard that some folks in urban areas really do not like raccoons..is that true?
even an opposum you got...oh well..can raccoons,opposums be considered as domestic home pets?
or do they always keep a bit of the urge for wild free nature in them...around my house here there used to be some woodland,trees years ago,but now urbanisation and building houses has got rid of that which i think is a pity...I used to see lots of hedgehogs on my front lawn,one of them even made a wintersleep in my garagei have no clue how he/she got in there,my cats used to catch some mice off and then as well...I'm glad you and your husband are animal and nature lovers...that's a good spirit!!

I love the kitty/raccoon video you attached. Neither one of them is giving up. People do sometimes make pets out of raccoons but yes their wild nature is always there. To answer your question, raccoons, coyotes, deer & many other wild animals here have adapted to the city here & can still be found living in large cities...to some peoples' dismay. But the way I see it mankind is the problem. I live outside a very small town in a forested area, we have almost 6 acres so that's why I am surrounded by all these great animals. I don't try to pet them, altough I would love to, just knowing they trust me feels good. I wanted to let you know I'm having to use the internet at work for now because my husband used all my minutes at home & I don't want to pay overage charges. I'm going to be off work for the next few days so you may not hear from me for a little bit, but I'll write back soon.

even housecats behave sometimes like little tigers...it's their instinct..

Yeah, I've watched some of the news about the plane being shot down , it is horrible I agree! With politicians playing games...we will probably never know the truth! Our world is crazy...I wish there were still "unpolluted" wilderness areas where someone
could get away from all of it...

 

There are plenty of unpopulated and clean land out there Ive had the great opportunity to to do some traveling around the east and south coast and there is amazing vast areas where there is no one just green land .

Did you hear about another one that went down over west Africa? They're currently blaming a storm, rather than ground fighting below their location... still, there's way too many aviation accidents happening as of recently. There were 116 people aboard that one... I haven't heard anything about survivors yet

Tomorrow my village once again will be full of Harley people...
