We never evacuate ahead of a storm... that's un-American. We sit and watch TV instead. (well "they" watch TV... I don't have one.)

According to the NY radio station I was listening to there is at least one area there were they have ordered 'mandatory evac'

 

I think even in a mandatory evacuation situation people can stay behind to protect their stuff, they just won't be rescued if it gets really bad. I know it was that way for forest fires in the mountains.

 

I recall once in the mountains of the Emerald Triangle of Nor Cal during floods the FEMA copters came to 'rescue' mountain folk andwere met by armed mountain folk who pointed out they needed no 'rescue' and that landing would be much easier in the flatlands....LOL

 

Jungle Jack recently told us about moving to Connecticut (I think) to be with his new honey. They will get some of the storm but not as bad as New Jersey. I hope it wasn't Long Island.
