Hey guys

The temperatures dropped tonight, its 3 degrees celcius (about 37F apparently) tomorrow and theyve got the gritters out on the roads because of frost and even snow warnings my house is a freezer right now! We dont have heating or double glazing, its gunna be such a cold long winter!!

Just checked and the temp out side is below freezing at -0.5C right now (about 31F), brrrrrrr chilly!

No heat here either... It's not that cold right now but will be by mid week. Actually going to have an interesting storm beginning next week.

 

It's starting to get cool here in the mountains. Fortunenately as a result of living in our van for six years we collect wool blankets and feather quilts.

We have central heating, but we're going to have a wood burner installed, probably January. They need to put in a flue because it's the first house I've ever lived in without an existing fireplace.

 

I have one plug in electric thing, that barely does anything and costs so much to keep it running! Night times are okay because I share my bed with babyp & the cats so we keep eachother warm and I'll be doing hotwater bottles for us when it gets really cold. It's just windy right now and it gets into my flat which reeeeally makes it cold!

I live in a council flat but my landlord bought the place so its technically private renting. It's just not a very warm place apart from summer where the heat doesn't leave!

Cold indeed, weve had frost this morning, no snow as of yet but there has been some light snow up north! I think were looking at a harsh winter this year fair, gives me even more motivation for the sock mob!

 

Mornin' folks and good :coffee: to all....I've np idea how cold it is here, but Missy (Moma Cat) came under the blankets eith us last night for the first time this winter.....brrrrrrrr!

 

Looks like were all gunna be frozen over before next year! Brrrrrr, suppose we can virtually huddle for warmth like penguins! lol

GM All,
The fire is roaring in the hearth, the flames licking around the logs hungrily devouring them. The warmth of the blaze washes over the body relaxing and comforting the soul.

We are blessed with what Mother has provided to keep us with fuel and substance.. The wood stacked neatly on the porch, kindling box overflowing. The pantry full of what sprang from our gardens and orchard. The freezer awaiting The Hunt. As the men ready their camps for opening day.

The anticipation mounts as the weekend draws near. The smell of gun oil lingers as the barrels are wiped clean inside and out. The loud BOOM of the rifle rings the air as they check the sights so they may be dead on when they fire.

It all so ritualistic in it's antiquity. I admire the strength and endurance it takes to achieve a successful hunt. I look forward to the venison steaks and the tenderloin, tender and juicy, melting in the mouth.. mmmm..

I've been getting my stones ready for Monday and also playing guitar a lot today, well.....learning too
