Actually having to leave the house sucks ...I feel for you! I've got a rather frantic day ahead...have to pack up my meager possessions and get a boat back to the UK (From Ireland). I'm hoping for a calm sea this time...last time it was blowing a bit of a gale.
Hi folks...I am seriously procrastinating organizing space in my new room...(For those who don't know I moved recently.) I'm usually good at organizing space but this is defeating me somewhat. My new room is a little smaller than my old one and It's really getting me down...I can't even think about quitting smoking until I've sorted this out.I found a desk in the street for my artwork but I need to create enough space for another table for when I set up my music studio...Why am I telling you this...Well I really need to get it done today and maybe just venting my frustration will help me to get in done.I really need to get my own flat but it's just not possible at the moment...Oh hell...
:coffee: and I'm putting up a fresh pot. MamaPeace, aren't all bankers anarchists? Read the news, he may be asking you for aplace to hide soon and you can take them to a festival. lol Whats this about leaving the house hun?
Good Morning Ranger, MamaP is not leaving our house.. she has to go out today, she's leaving her house but will be back
Look up Fair, Build shelves, hang a net up to the ceiling and to a wall corner, put things in the net to save room, find or build a foot locker and stash stuff in there, when you're not using it slide it under your bed. Turn your closet into a work space and get 'hanger extensions' to hang your clothes. You'd be surprised how much room you can find. If you have a big bed, get a smaller one. That will add extra space too.
My dad is now a firm believer in government, he doesn't however like who is in 'power'... I don't like the area I live in so I tend not to enjoy leaving the house, especially when its only to go to the shops for more cigarettes and some celery to put in dinner annoyingly, I like outside more than I like inside but I feel a bit trapped around here, I'm tired of the stares and comments I get almost everytime I go out! Just earlier I was wrapping babyp (woven wrap, which is like a baby carrier type thing although its just a piece of material, kind of the same thing they use to carry their children in places like Africa) and some of the stares and even gasps I get from doing it just makes me want to lock myself inside or run 1000 miles away!!
Oh sorry ranger, I thought you meant my IRL house, thats what I meant. Your not getting rid of me that easy
Hi, I just posted a new thread about my soon trip in South California looking for some hip communities; arrival spe.13th. I gathered 3 times with the Rainbow family in Europe so I would visit a nice and peaceful hip community in the area of San Diego; that's where I'll stay mainly cause got to visit my relatives and cousins for a while. Anyway I have 2 months vacation so sharing work, music and my Italian chef skills would be a great pleasure. I thought even to move north if necessary in Santa Cruz, Berkley and Fresko bay area. Waiting to get in touch with someone, Peace, Charlieboy charlieboysuperstar@yahoo.com
Sounds like a culturely ugly hood. Shock 'em in style and get a baby wrap/carrier of a piece of expencive looking tie dyed silk or some such. A pal taught me years ago how to shop the thrift shops and dress to impress for very little. In that case it was in order to move freely around the cops during the Berkly Free Speach riots while raising bloody hell. LOL
Yep it is pretty culture ugly. There arent many 'different' people here, everyone is mainly what I suppose you'd call 'common', lots of 'rude boys', plastic gold jewelry and such. Im lucky to have found a few people a bit more like me but they work way too much and I rarely get to see them. I do look very out of place in my multi coloured wellies, unbrushed bright red hair, peace signs tied in my hair and round my neck and a bright orange baby carrier, with a usually multicoloured baby inside hehe I don't know what a thrift shop is? I dont think ive ever seen/heard of one
Thrift shops here are usually church or charity sponsered resale shops for used items and the trick is to visit the ones closest to up scale hoods.
Yeah only here thrift/charity shops tend to be cheaper. Second hand shops seem to get greedy and try to morph into 'antique shops'.
I picked up my sofas from a second hand furniture shop. A 3 seater and an arm chair all for £39 and he threw some cushions in for free too I much prefer buying second hand, most of my stuff is second hand. Babyps toybox is about 100 years old, i just painted it because whoever had it before had painted it electric blue
Ah, much appreciated Ranger! I love the conversations here. They are all things I can relate to so this must be my family. Depression, ugh, been there. Moving rooms/house and trying to organize and fit things in a smaller space. Thrift stores . Being the extraordinary one when you go out into community. Coffee and cigarettes. Yep, you all are family. :grouphug: 'Morning Shameless. Thank you. I haven't spoken to them today but BIL was having all his tests come back normal last night.
