What a night! So lovely to see everyone back home again and working together. (Puts on the coffee and stumbles off to the shower.)

    Morning Ty and Fair!

I've been making hemp and leather jewellery lately and I've just come back from scouring the charity shops/thrift stores in town for junk jewellery. I've picked up a good handful of necklaces and bracelets with pretty beads, so I'm just gonna sit in the garden and deconstruct them to get all the silver, glass and wooden beads and throw out the plastic crap. It costs practically nothing to get a good selection of really nice beads to work with. I plan to sell my jewellery at next year's festivals.

Do you know anything about threading beads in one's hair Stilcrazy.I'm thinking of growing my hair a bit more and have this idea of threading beads...

Do you mean ordinary hair or dreads? When I had dreads I used the silver ear cuffs to wrap around the dread. For nondreaded hair I guess you could slide on the bead and put one of the small plastic clips used for fixing extensions underneath the bead to hold it in place. If you did that, sooner or later you would end up with dreads!

My only issue with dreads and beads etc is that it's not very comfortable to sleep on. And I once nearly knocked my front tooth out when I was washing my hair and a beaded dread swung round and smacked me in the mouth!

I'll have dreads one day! my hair is currently waist length (when straight or wet, but my natural curls make it seem shorter) but I'm hoping to keep growing it a bit more then letting it dread naturally.. only thing that puts me off is the fact I'd have to chop it if I decided I didn't want dreads anymore and I don't think I could handle that :p ...a childhood hair cut has scared me from having short hair forever! My hair dreads easily, if I leave it a day without brushing I always have mini dreads, I have to brush it like 3 times a day if I want it to stay normal!

Here's a story for you! When I decided to get rid of my dreads, I didnt want to cut them off so I actually combed them out! I used a fork to comb them starting at the ends. I had dreads to about the middle of my back and it took me two weeks to comb them out and I had repetitive strain injury in my wrist from constantly combing. I ended up with two bin bags full of hair at the end. My hair didn't look too bad at the end. I had it cut to about shoulder length because it was all straggly, but was quite shiny and normal looking afterwards. It's awful what you find inside the dreads when you comb them out.

I should add that my hair is very thick, so although I must have lost a lot of hair combing out the dreads, it still looked ok.

A friend of mine once cut off all her dreads leaving just "stumps" all over her head. She immediately regretted it and cried all night and in the morning I just sewed them all back on for her! Nobody could tell the difference!

Thats like my hair, long and thick! Maybe there is hope in keeping some of my length! I want quite thin dreads, but loads of them, no idea why though!

Is it easy to dye dreaded hair?

Yep! I dyed mine all the time, just the roots cos I've got grey coming in. My daughter has long dreads which she dyes bright red.

There's a whole sub-forum on here about dreads under Fashion and Crafts.

Crawls out from under the Birds Of Paradise that stand tall in the west corner of the garden.. Smooths her hippie tie-dye dress, fluffs out her hair and straightens her glasses.

She peers out onto the Patio and sees though the window the family gatering in the kitchen.. Humm she thinks, it must be coffee time.

SH searches for her other sandal as the sun sends it's shinning rays to greet the Earth.. She stops for a moment to take in the glory of the dazzling sun rays as the dance on the droplets of morning dew clinging to each leaf that lives in the garden.

Surrealistic shadows fade into bright colored flowers, exotic in their flare, swaying in the morning breeze. The San Franciscan fog lifting like the mist of a Genie returning to their bottle.

The vivid colors and patterns are thick in the air as the birds sing their songs of Love bringing the day in with gusto.

She tiptoes into the kitchen and greets her house mates with hugs and smiles. She asks if anyone knows why Ty is hanging upsidedown in an Oak tree over in the Park.

She takes a cup from the cabinet and pours a cup of coffee hoping it was not make from the water jug with the vitamin L in it.. or.. she smiles secretly as she sips the hot black brew.

Good Morning she says again in case she really didn't say it the first time and just thought it. She returns to her coffee:eggnog:

What The Heck... Who put Eggnog in my:coffee: What a Trip!!
