Morning all! I've made a pot of coffee, but it's on the warming plate, so it should be good for a while. I'm just stopping in to say I'm going off to the Green Gathering festival tomorrow, so I won't be around for a few days. The caravan is outside the house, so I've just got to organise what I'm taking. Can somebody water my houseplants while I'm gone please? I think it's gonna be a bit rainy, so I think waterproofs are going to be the first thing packed! If I have time today, I want to make some smudge sticks so they can dry out while I'm away and I can used them in my new house.
Have fun Stillcrazy! I'm not in a position to go to any of the links you posted this year but im definitely considering it for next year as long as things go smoothly! Lots of time to plan in advance I shall water your plants whilst your away! Enjoy!! Tiger, I'll take a look at the pictures, over here on every Sunday the bikers from around the area gather at a cafe by box hill, some Sundays there are hundreds of them! It can be pretty cool to see, lots of harleys too, I'll post a picture later of myself as an 8 year old ready for my first ride on a Harley out in new mexico, i look so happy!

Love bikers... My son is on day 12 of sobriety!!! This is his new record. Last time was 11 days only because he was really ill with 2 other things back to back; not because he was trying to stop drinking. Love you All!!! :grouphug:
you scared me with that pic- made me jump yep its other name is bone knit I have a very strong tincture, and rub in the oil ... http://www.ageless.co.za/comfrey.htm Enjoy the tea will do you the world of good :2thumbsup:
When I get done with helping my son get sober, and getting my daughter and grandson moved in to my house, I'm going to be doing a reduction on smoking cigarettes. I'm probably going to be wanting some teas to help out with that.
This i can help with, pleased to read your son is doing good... I hope he stays that way- we are all rooting for him :sunny: as a mother it must be so painful xxx
Thank you, All. He is wanting to get his car keys back and to begin driving himself to work and meetings. He has only been to 3 AA meetings and none of the group counseling sessions. His daughters played softball tournaments over the weekend so last week and the weekend were full of practices and games. He coaches both teams. That was good for him but it put him behind schedule on his meetings. This morning I talked to him about the fears of his wife, and my husband and I. I told him how proud we are that he has 11 days sober but that we didn't want him to try to go too fast in his recovery. I explained it to him saying that it is like when a baby first walks, or a child first rides a bike. You want them to be successful. You also don't want to let go too soon and let them fall. If you let go before your child is ready and they get hurt, then you feel terrible. My voice cracked and I got teary eyed as I said this, so I think he understands that his family just wants to make sure he is ready before we let him solo. He could relate to that because he is a father. I don't want to be over-bearing. It's hard to know when you've helped enough. It's time for me to go pick him up and I can't stay longer and chat this afternoon. I miss hanging out with you all in the house!
You will know - that is a good way to put it, baby steps. I cannot bear to have a relationship with a drinker, my sons dad taught me the hard way... He should try and keep up AA it will support him when you need to let him go walk alone. I understand there is 10 steps, usually when people complete them they are cured. I am lucky on that score, I can take it or leave it. Tobacco like you is my demon!
great statement,aeri...:2thumbsup: I'm coming out of an alcoholic family=father,aunt,grandfather.. but..i can tell you...I'll never go down their level...NEVER.. I have a few pints...but...I keep it under control... and listen, crazy dawn here.. will give us some nice brews,no doubt about that...:2thumbsup:
aerianne Thinking of you and your son. I hope he continues to make good choices. Twelve days does not seem long enough to move away from an addiction. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Uh oh! You will need more nails tiger, if roamy sees this photo!! Haha! Looking good tiger! Also looking slightly confused! But I blame that on the tea
