Happy Father's Day!

Tomorrow is Father's Day in the U.S. Is anyone doing anything with their dad?

This is my dad from 1969. He was drafted in '68, the year I was born, and deployed to Vietnam. This picture was put in the local newspaper without my mom's knowledge and she got pretty upset about it. They both hated that war.

I was named after my dad, who was named after his dad. So I'm actually tumbling.dice III. When we were all together it got confusing figuring out who other family members were talking to.

I got him some Colorado Rockies tickets. He's been a fan since the team began here. I can deal with games in small doses beyond that it gets boring and slow.

I'm either going to call him today when he's a drunken mess, stumbling and slurring through a cluster fuck of a conversation that only ends with him passing out, or I'll call him tomorrow when he is sober and the conversation is awkward, forced and uncomfortable.

Either way, and though you might not agree with me, I think he would appreciate it Neo.

Our Dad was in WWII. He died March 1, 2018 at the age of 94. He is missed. I will probably go to the cemetery where he and Mom rest in peace.

Sounds like Fathers Day is a rough day for a few of us

May you all have a peaceful day tomorrow and for those lucky enough to still have your dad around and to have a good relationship, show him plenty of love and appreciation tomorrow!

Yeah, it's difficult, but I love him anyway. He's misguided and broken but he means well.

Sadly, my youngest brother refuses to have anything to do with him. I wish we could all get onto the same page. Only for a short period of his life has my dad had all four children in his life at the same time.

It's a mess, but I refuse to give up on him, on my siblings, on my family. I'm a naive idealist though :(

You aren't naive, you are trying to do what's right, even if it's difficult.

I prefer Mother's day.. That's not meaning I have a good relationship with my mother(nor my father). I just like happy days when everyone buys flowers.
