no! do not backcomb! wtf? that will destroy your whole year of progress. if anything just root rub with some wool. they look good btw.
I've not had my dreads for long (few months) but for me if I just sleep in a different way so that my loosies are under my head on the pillow they seem to sort themselves out pretty damn quickly (few nights and they tame down) Maybe just try sleeping at a different angle, or move your dreads so you sleep on them? EDIT: forgot to say, love da dreads xD they look pretty nice for only a year
True, true xD the angle I sleep at though I always seem to get good dreads at front and sides, but not so good at the back xD Everyone sleeps in different ways tho I guess, its always worth a try to see if you can do it as its defo the easiest method to sweet dreads with no tampering (wax, crochet, whatever)
They look killer dude! As for the backcombing, if you think it'll help, go for it! Obviously don't backcomb the ones that are already locked up, but if you wanna help the front ones, I doubt it would hurt: backcombings not all that bad. Wool rubbing is good too tho:cheers2:
thanks for all the replies its just the very front dread on either sides are like half dreads, with hair that just wont seem to stick into em, not much hair at all but ill just give it more time n see what happens. ive been tryin to sleep on those two dreads to help em knot up. dreadddlooovveee:cheers2:
I Have The Same Prob, Hair Foward Of My Ears, Has Only Formed Two Dreads On Each Side. I Put This Down To Oil On My Skin, And Always Wash The Side Of My Face With A Zit Wash Which Has The Effect Of Making The Skin Very Dry Before Going To Bed. During The Night When I Get Up To Go To The "Little Bois Room" I Have A Face Washer There So I Can Wipe Again. I'm Pleased To Say, This Approach Seems To Be Working.. Cheers Glen.
good point, ive noticed too my forehead gets pretty oily and the strand of hair closest to my forehead is a lot more oily then any of my hair, ill try this n see how it goes, thanks brother
Nice point made there Glen... maybe try cleaning the strands of hair as well, give em a good scrub next time your in the shower with whatever cleaning product you use Maybe try crocheting aswell? Its up to you though.... I find crocheting quite hard to do now my dreads have started tightening alot and I get confused easily trying to do it in the mirror xD Whatever you find easiest =] You could even try a wrap or a bead on those loose strands
yeh ive been tryin to extra wash the front ones, i might crochet it eventually b ut we'll see what happens, i dunno if a bead would be too annoying on the front dread tho
Nice looking dreads bro Especially for only one year You said since you stopped combing do you mean you have been doing neglect? or did you start off backcombing?
yes, neglect. not a man-made dread on my head. i cant wait til they are waist long, so i can attach a guitar pick to a dread and play guitar with my dread
