most often pursued where it is least likely to be found.

(and the few who come to realize they're not going to find it in excitement,
often turn to 'religious' fantasies, where they don't find it either)

exploring is where all sentients find it, creating is where sapients find it also.
if such a distinction exists, that is the alpha and omega of it.

a contentment which does not require dramatic expression.

knowing that you can choose what to pretend, and that nothing anyone else tells you to, is any more nor less likely.

that things that don't depend on what we pretend, also don't depend on what anyone tells anyone else to either.

it is also a hug, that lasts just as long enough as you need it, but not too long to keep you from doing anything else.

happiness is easy when you're not looking for it in the wrong places, (booze, money, popularity, political power)
and no one is robbing you (by their hate and anger) of looking for in the right ones. (creating, exploring, generosity, imagination)

happiness is a world that doesn't try to tell you what to pretend, it is the universal wonder of strangeness without stress.

 

Happiness is discovering the train you raced to catch but arrived too late for-was cancelled anyway.

 

retaining the imagination you were born with,

instead of buying into the nonsense that it is something to leave behind with childhood,
and replace with an eternal, and seldom completely gratifying, pursuit of sex, power, wealth, and mind altering substances.
