I once tripped on the beach in Cayucos at night, and there were literally thousands of fish washed up on shore; pulsating, struggling to hop back into the ocean: and all of a sudden I became the decider- I became the fish god. At first I picked only certain fish, and tossed them back into the ocean. Among the many restless and striving-to-exist were the fish that had simply given up, and accepted their fate to lie motionless along the microscopic galaxies of infinite sand particles. Those were the fish I fell in-love with, and struggled to toss as many of the motionless fish as possible back to their water-home [while still wiggling in my hands.] After an hour or so of playing my role of fish-god, I realized that they weren't fish at all, but evolutionary creatures expanding out of the sea and taking to the land. Fish turning into frogs, turning into primative land creatures and humming an ancient earth snarl gospel; droned and immaculate.
