The jackpot for this Saturday is (OR WAS) standing at 675 million.....

I bought a ticket but I really wonder IF ANYONE REALLY EVER WINS!!!

They say they do BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN SQUAT!! (And the actors on TV saying they won DONT MEAN ANYTHING unless you can personally prove it)

its a nice amount. whoever wins, i hope they don't go crazy and kill themselves.
i'd probably do something stupid and go into politics.
there's places to gambol all over the place around me where i live.
somehow i never seem to get around to doing so.
the prizes are a lot smaller, but the odds are proportionately at least a little better.

Jackpot is currently an estimated $800,000,000!

I have tickets for the powerball and megamillions.

There are likely to be several winners for the powerball.

I don't know what I would do if I was the sole winner. I guess the 30 payout would be nice! I have a niece and no kids of my own. I'd give at least 1% to each family unit that is close to me.

When--oops--if I win, I'll set the family up in a compound and give the rest away to help women and children, animal organizations, get me a '50 Olds, a case Ripple, and cruise main for chicks.

The lottery is a self imposed tax on fools, of which obviously--I am.

I don't think I would have any wild and crazy ideas about what to do with the $. People usually have those but I would see the $ as a chance to live a 'normal' life.

Practically speaking, a ticket is only worth buying for the entertainment value.

You would have to spend roughly $600 million dollars on tickets in order to guarantee that you'd win the jackpot. You'd have to pay about half of your winnings in taxes. This means that you could expect to make about 33 cents back for every dollar you spent on tickets.

If you factor in the chances that you'd have to share the jackpot, it drops to about 11 cents or less for every dollar that you spend

Beyond that, do you really that much money?

It's only worth it if buying a ticket is going to give you $2 worth of fun (or at least $1.90 worth of fun) imagining the slim but non-zero chance of winning

Great idea. Use restored sea containers as housing; rainwater tanks and 100 acres of solar panels and wind fans.
