Because of a power outage I couldn't get my computer to turn back on. I stumbled on this video,bought a new strong hair dryer and now my pc turns on. This saved me some MONEY.

These temporary fixes have been around forever. "fix your xbox in the oven" Some heat just melts away enough oxidization to let broken components function for a few more hours. If you care at all about your computer or the data on your drives, it is not worth it to mess with old bad power supplies. Bad capacitors and dying components inside will send dirty fluctuating spiking voltages to all the devices inside the computer.
PS , videos on power supply replacement are probably on YouTube Amazon , and others have PS s for$36. And up depending on the watts.
