The old NFB in Canada ruled. NFB (National Film Board) used to be a great hotbead for innovative filmmaking including documentaries and experimental films and tonnes of things. Now all it really does is function as a grant giving organization. These are a few of my favourites with runtimes from about 10 minutes to about an hour. Documentaries first.

I've got La Lutte (Wrestling) on there too. It is in French, short, but is totally awesome. I've also got Pour la suite du monde which is a lot longer (105 min) but if you understand regional dialects of Quebecois French, or if you don't it is well worth the watch.

These are the experimental films. Very Nice, Very Nice was done by Aurthur Lipsett and is "found footage" and is a prett amazing sound and image collage. Cosmic Zoom inspired a The Simpsons couch gag, at least IMO. Walking was a Academy Award nominated animated short by Ryan Larkin who is the subject of a Oscar winning short doc from the NFB called Ryan.

I realy don't expect anyone to watch all of these (especially Pour la suite du monde cause there are no subtitles) but even if you watch one or two. University is conflicting for me. On one hand I don't want to be an elitist douche who thinks I am better than anyone for liking not well known movies, but I really think that these docs especially are so good and get almost no press because they aren't making an overt political statement or allow someone to become an expert in the politics of medicine in under 2 hours. They have something else to offer that isn't so apparent...

Anywho, enjoy if you choose
