my friend used to let me carry his knife when we were hanging out. haha. "i'll shank yo ass" then i took up the trend of taking plastic knives from the burrito hole and carrying my "plastic shank" around in my purse. .. arrrrhh..
for me it is unnecessary to lock my car seeing as my bus doesn't lock. as for leaving my keys in it. i just dislike carrying things. also i believe in people to be good. it hasnt back fired yet. i usually dont carry my cell phone on me because i feel it is disrespectful (for the most part) to answer and talk on your phone when you are with your friends or family or even most cases in public. thank you for the wonderful compliment.
Well in my wallet there isss : -Money (I have lotsa 5 $ bills but no change really, i couldn't even buy a 70 cents muffin ) - ID cards like school student card, health insurance card, social insurance card etc -my debit card ... And yeah a small pencil and paper ...
my pockets are usually quite empty... i have a paper with music chords written on it (just came back from jammmin'), keys attached to my lovely spongebob keychain. that is all.. prolly lots of dust and dirt i always like having the least possible ammount of stuff in my pockets on me... i tend to get paranoid when theres too much things in them, wondering if i didnt lose anything, especially when youre drunk or stoned
Pft... I wish I had some smokes right now... but I can't get anyone to buy them for me, and I can't buy them for another 3 days! Oh well, I am hanging out with a smoker friend of mine who usually gives me something to smoke when I ask him.
Have you ever tried to get into a package with your bare hands? Knifes are very versatile tools. Sometimes people need a good shanking too. That's actually the reason I don't carry a knife much.
I don't know... I think some guys just see it as maybe a thing guys do? Personally, if I have to open something, I just use my keys. They are already like... serated. I used to carry a knife, but then again, I used to do plenty of things I don't do now... But a lot of guys use their knives in many situations, like at work or something. Several times when I worked I wished I had a pocket knife, rather than car/house keys to open some boxes and stuff... I don't know why it is prodominately a guy thing, though. Although I do know a couple ladies who do/used to carry a knife in their purse. Some ladies also carry guns in their purses...
If it weren't for a pocket knife, that ex-Marine down in Georgia could very well be dead, but instead he warded off those 5 teenage attackers, killing one of them. Fucking awesome. When I get money, I'm probably going to carry a knife with me.... I'm paranoid. Until then I just have a pen or two and sometimes my wallet.
I got knife training in the army, and more by a Marine Force guy (basically marine SF, makes marine infantry look a bit pussy) even more knife fighting. But I decided since I'm not involved in situations where I feel my lives threatened, I shouldn't carry knife made to fight. i've got a little box opener knife thing on my toolman. I do have a very good short fighting knive, Small enough to carry here, and fits in the pockets nice. $15, very sturdy, and legal to carry. Actually made by master cutlary. I recomend a straight blade rather then a fold out if you can find a nice one. For Knife fighting serraded blades are overratted. I've never killed anyone, and I want to live a life where I'll never have too. So I don't carry a fighting knife. Knives aren't made to wound. Dont blame you though, some people are just freaking crazy.
I thought you didn't want to go? I can't say I can train you online. But have you ever boxed? Basically knife fighting is boxing with a knife, except with you're stronger hand, you have a knife, and you're slashing with it, at their eyes, throat, face, if their hands get away, its fine. Just be sure to keep you're other hand up, and a slight bit ahead of you're knife hand. Use it to knock down their guard if you can, and if they have a knife, wrap your arm in somtething and catch it, and then stab them in the stomach. But like I say, I'd need to show you, You can't really demonstrate it online. PM me if you want to talk about the military thing. I certainly won't judge your descion because I've lived through something similar to it. But I wouldn't want to be in the army, because I don't want to be in a dangerous situation where I might have to kill someone. There are plenty of options open for you, whether you realise it or not. Like I said, I'm not going to judge your desicion, and I hope you find what you're looking for.
Hell yes I want to go. I'm pretty excited. No, I can see it in my mind.... I've been doing a lot of reading/training of/with Bruce Lee's The Tao of Jeet Kune Do and sparring at future soldier gatherings, so I've got an idea. Never used a knife though.... but I want to take fencing lessons after basic/ait, so, ha. Oh I know... this just seems to be the smartest and most logical choice I can make, though. And bloody hell, I'm going to be paid to fire cannons and travel.... I realise that I may have to kill and I may be put in dangerous situations, but that can happen anywhere. At least in the Army you're expecting it.
My old roomate Sean was a certified JKD instructor. We'd spar sometimes, although he was admitedly out of shape. Bruce Lee did a lot for Wing Chun and American MA. In fact, you could probably call him the forebarer of MMA in the US. What's your MO? Start running a lot now, aroebic shape will be the best thing for 'ya, and It'll be much nicer going in in good shape. Most of the people I saw drop we're because they couldn't keep up with the running and constant energy that was expected of 'em. Like I said, I'm not trying to talk you out of it... But the thing is, even though some of those people may be vile bastards trying to keep women in robes and unite Islamic militant fronts. There will be others that will see themselves in fighting for Iraqi partiotism. I'm not saying that those people don't have to be contained. But it's a lot to have on your conscience. Which is why I'm no longer in the army. I'm sure you'll make the best desicion for yourself though. And if you do get deployed, I think you'll make the right descions. Good luck homeboy.
