Skip is right about that. Business would flourish under a libertarian rule. I consider myselff quite libertarian, however, the dems keep some values i hold and the republicans keep the rest of the values I hold. Because a liberatarian will not hold a major office in this country for quite some time, I vote otherwise. What I like most about libertarian is that the general philosophy is to keep government small and let the people do what they will. I like the idea myself but we have become too crutched in this society to ever fend fully for ourselves.
Exactly. The why is he doing it was open ended. Yes you hit it right on the head. To start a revolution you must first infiltrate the government you want to change. His ideas have to take root in the form of senate seat holders. Then change can begin. Just having a Libertarian President won't do anything. He needs backers in the senate and the Congress. Real change takes time. Peace
Not sure what you mean by that. we are a capitalist country. Yes big busuness plays a big part. they put people to WORK. We don't have to pay welfare to them. Wait the internet is a big business. right skip ? Peace
The Libertarian Party in the US would want full Friedman stylee economics. So you're policing, healthcare, schooling etc would be run by big business. As is big business has a scarily big hand in things but the libertarian party would give them the whole lot. While I agree with them near entirely on social policy, that's as far as it goes.
So you want me and you to pay for someone elses health care ? Don't put it in the hands of the Gov. They have to much to do with it now. Peace
if someone doesnt grasp the libertarian philosophy,,especially the constitutional aspect of it there is almost no point in trying to reason with them..
Damn Hippies. You seem so fiscally conservative. Might as well be my egotistic maniacal capitalist ass talking here.
i have been a libertarian and a constitutionalist long LONG before ron paul made it cool.. hell i dare say ive carried a libertarian card for almost 20 years now... of course i have never claimed to be a hippie.. i just claim to have a lot of traits that some would consider hippyish..
Well I am a hippy. And I still don't want to pay for welfare. that just makes people depend on it more. People need to work and take of themselves. Peace Peace
Sounds so very familiar. My wife could tell you the stories. so who do you vote for each general election? Maybe I should say which party represents your interests the most with the actuall possibility of being elected?
if the constitution was strictly adhered to,, if the hippies wanted a socialist state,,they could have one,,if the right wing bible thumpers wanted a police state where they could feel safe from the hippies, they could have one.. it should not be dictated either way by the federal government.. that in and of itself is unconstitutional.. i sometimes wonder how many people have actually read the bill of rights and fully comprehended it.. especially the tenth amendment...
ive voted straight libertarian ticket the last few elections,,if there wasnt a libertarian candidate running i write in a disney character.. this year will be different.. I REFUSE TO VOTE FOR NEO FASCIST BOB BARR!!!! with him being a former congressman from georgia,,i know far to much about him to believe he has the libertarians in his best interest.. it seems from what ive been reading i am not alone there either.. i will write in ron paul for president.. (i always vote absentee..)
yeah i know our country may never take back its constitution,,but that does not mean i wont go to my grave expounding my beliefs...
i can go dig him up if youd like.. i dont think at this stage of his decomposition he would be much help though..
What I like best about that is that in spite of whats hip today you hold firm to a structure that has and likely always will make sense to you. Dont let the winds of popularity blow you around like so many you see today.
