Great. So you don't like guns or their use, but you yearn for a Glock, and a "sawed off," which is ILLEGAL TO OWN in the U.S. Nice. You're a real law-and-order type, huh? Maybe we're better off with a ban on guns, "gradually," like you said, with the first people banned from owning them being those who think they need them to defend against zombies. Blue skies, -Jeffrey P.S. When you say you're against the use of all guns, do you mean even the police, and even a woman who fights off a rapist with one, or a man who repels three armed thugs who are planning to do a home invasion robbery? I mean, we all oppose the criminal use of guns... but why oppose when good people save themselves or other good people by using them? Is a woman who kills a rapist by using a gun as bad as a robber who sticks someone up for his wallet and then shoots him? Is a homeowner who shoots an armed burglar as bad as the burglar, who may have killed the homeowner and his family?
I own a Smith & Wesson .357 for home and personal security purposes. I call him Black Bart, and I've got a good deal of practice at the range with him and have gotten pretty accurate. I can put all seven bullets into a sillouette at 15 yards in about 10 seconds. Now, I do agree with some degree of gun control, I don't think it's a good idea to sell criminals and crazies guns. But I don't think it's a good idea to outlaw guns for responsible adults for a couple of reasons. First of all, a person can get a gun through the black market almost anywere in the world, regardless of laws. If the only place to get guns is the black market, then by definition only criminals can get guns. Second, the founding fathers put the right to bear arms in the bill of rights for a reason, so that the American people can defend themselves against aggressive or oppressive governments and armies, foreign and domestic. In the case of an invasion by a foreign army, or violent oppression by the American government I will stop by my father's house to pick up a rifle and I will fight to the death for my country. Don't worry though, I'm not a violent or self-destructive person, but if someone is foolish enough to bust into my house the last thing they will see is this: Security by Smith & Wesson beats Brinks every time.
Damn straight. Too bad for me, owning a handgun in New York is impossible. If anybody gets into my apartment, the worst that could befall them would be a fractured skull, broken jaw and a few cracked ribs from having their face(s) smashed in with a bat. Along with their virginity and/or self respect and dignity too.
personaly i feel the best approach to reducing casual abuse of lethal force would be to not MANUFACTURE balistic ordinance. reducing total firearms in circulation would do more to keep them out of irrisponsible hands then any attempt otherwise to micro regulate their possession. i also think if people wanted to exercise their rights to possess militarily effective armament as was the origeonal intention of the ammendment they should be perfectly welcome to aquire and maintain abrams tanks and cruise missles, get togather on a saturday evening and take them out to the nearest military bombing and gunnery range and have a grand old time i also think that while there they should be allowed to fire davey crocketts (the infamous sholder launched nuke with a range approximately equal to its blast radius) =^^= .../\...
Haha, that's a pretty funny shirt. I've gotta say I'm suprised by the number of "hippies" here who are against gun control. For the longest time I thought I was the only one. It's good to know that being liberal doesn't always mean you subscribe to exacly what the media wants liberals to be.
For all those that are for gun-control: I bet that tune changes when the governement decides to declare war on it's own citizens. The founding fathers put that second amendment in for a reason. They must have had psychic visions of the fascism that would come later.
guns are like nukes. sure it would be stupid to get rid of all your nukes before everyone agrees to get rid of their nukes..but as has been mentioned, its not the regulations thats causing the problems it's the mass manufacturing. you can't expect to rid the world of nukes when your country pumps em out a dime a dozen. in canada it's pretty damn hard to get a gun that inst a hunting rifle, it would be near impossible if it wasnt for the american manufacturers of guns. there is no need for handguns what so ever outside of the military. there is no need for automatics outside of the military. if you want to stage an uprising agaisnt your gov, or an invading army, you can do it with a hunting rifle. you can't walk around the streets with a hunting rifle in your pants and robbing old ladies though. and peaceful jefffery...you are such a douche.
First of all, stopping the manufacture of guns won't stop criminals from getting guns. Almost all the guns on the black market are used. 90% of the guns used in violent crimes are second-hand. There are over 223 million guns in the United States, and stopping the manufacture of them won't stop the fact that a criminal can get a gun anywhere in the world. It would be nice if the world could be rid of violence and criminals, but violence and crime are just a part of human nature. As long as there are criminals I am going to defend myself against them, for me, the easiest and most effective way to do that is responsibly owning and knowing how to properly use a handgun. It is a well known and documented fact that the higher the per-capita responsible and legal gun ownership is, the lower the crime rate. Oh, and calling someone a douche because you don't agree with them means that... ...and resort to name calling because you can't make a valid argument.
congrats, you also made the douche listing. i mentioned zombies as a good use for guns. peaceful failed to see the inherent sarcasm and the joke in that, and went off on a rant. hence he is a douche. you used a stupid premade internet picture to try to insult someone, because you lack the ability and orgininality to come up with something yourself, hence, you are a douche. it has nothing to do with your or his opinion on gun control.
I made that picture you motherfucking deadist. (Deadism: ded-ism: Having an irrational predjudice against living-impaired people. EX: "Dangermoose is a real deadist, he even keeps a shotgun under his bed and says he will shoot any living-impaired people who try to move into his town.")
i assume by the lighter tone of your post, that you somewhat retract your former statement? very well then...and seeing as you apparently made the pic i shall remove you from the douche listing. let us drink beer and forget our differences. *hands you a beer*
I will drink your beer, but it doesn't change the fact that... And I retract nothing! My statements stand as solid evidence that I am always right no matter what!
