Rational argument is in the US,

    What the does that mean?

the law allows people the right to own a gun.

Subject to the current regulations and laws, just like in the UK in fact.

Prohibition of anything creates a black market that will trump the one you have now.

But I’m not talking about gun prohibition only regulation aimed at reducing harm. I’ve stated my ideas many times while discussing these issues, and can repeat them, but they cannot be expressed in slogan form and so I think many gun advocates ignore them or are just not interested.

The same weak rational to take guns away has been used successfully to take away other rights and i personally do not agree with it.

What other ‘rights’ are you talking about? Have you read ‘Can guns save you from suppression?’

Like i stated, i don't need nor depend on the mommy gov't nor yourself to tell me how to life my life. I have never committed a gun crime, so because some idiot, and statistically speaking most likely with an illegally obtained firearm, has committed a crime, you want to take mine away?

You don’t need your community or care about your fellow citizens?

I warn against slogans and you reply with a slogan, and that’s exactly what I’ve being saying the pro-gunners don’t seem able to have an honest and open debate they prefer, lies, propaganda and simplistic slogans.

So lets get this straight, you cut something out of ‘myspace’ and without checking to see where it came from or if it had even an ounce of validity you just posted it here as a statement of truth, because you “saw no need to question it”?

You did that because it just seemed to fit in with other things you’d read, which really begs the question, did you check or question those other things? I mean if you gave as much attention to them as you did to this piece of rather dubious propaganda how can we be sure they were also dubious pieces of propaganda?

Can you actually give some examples of these supposedly ‘similar reports’ and where you got them?

You claim that guns in the hands of decent people protects against tyranny, have you read - ‘Can guns save you from suppression?’

    I did ask you to.

    **

If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them.

I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

Oh what a fucking surprise, yet more slogans.

    **

As for discussing honestly, etc. Please do not judge me yet. You have barely met me.

But I’ve read what you’ve put and I’m still sceptical you’re willing to discuss this subject rationally.

    I mean –

I point out slogans are not rational arguments and you give me slogans

I ask you to read something and you clearly haven’t.

You don’t seem to check or question things that fit in with you own prejudices.

Not a great start is it?

    Mass shootings

I believe no murder spree type mass shooting have occurred in Australia or the UK since 1996
In the US they are common, their have been several in the last year alone.

    *

The homicide rates per 100,000 of population

    United States of America 5.9

    Australia 1.28

    England and Wales 1.65

    *

    The prison population per 100,000

US – 714 (I believe the highest in the world)

    AU – 117

    UK – 142

    *

State murder used as deterrent. The UK and Australia don’t have the death penalty.

The US, I believe, is the fourth or fifth highest executioner in the world.

    *

Who do you think has a worse societal problem the US, the UK or Australia?

So are you arguing for these problems to be looked at, so that solution may be found or are you arguing that you need a gun to protect you from your society’s obvious problems?

You see to me you don’t seem to care about your society genuine problems or how your country can be made a better place all your efforts seem to be aimed here at defending or promoting gun ownership.

We have gun control in my country. Am I definitely going to be rounded up and shot too?! And I mean, we've had it for a while now, so by the maths, I should've been shot about 3 million times by now!!! I'm not looking forward to that.
