These 'guitar' games make such a mockery of music. To me it seems to be the final death bell of true music. 'Tis a sad sad day when such things are the norm...
Its a game. That uses songs that people know. What is wrong with that. Its fun. It makes you feel as if you were actully playing it.
Yeah I know its just a game, but I just get bad vibes from it, I dunno why. It doesn't seem right when people sit down a press plastic buttons to 'play' a song that someone put a lot of heart and soul into and someone who spent thousands upon thousands of hours just to be proficient at their instrument. Then someone comes along picks up a piece of plastic hooked up to a squealing television and proceeds to play through the whole song without much effort, especially compared to how hard it is to play the song on a real guitar, let alone write a song of that caliber.... I dunno call me crazy, but I don't like it...
^^^ stop acting like some music elitist.. go back to the music forums.. as for Guitar Hero.. the game is fun but i will never buy it... $80 for something that has pretty limited game play just doesnt seem like something worth investing in...
Hey man, thats just what I feel, I'm hate it when people act better than others, I try not to come off like that. I don't like what music has become since nearly every genre has become cliche, almost every band has played for the money, music has become so stereotypical in composition and so limited in creativity. Guitar Hero just seems to be another step of the decay of music. Sorry if I come off as arrogant, thats the last thing I want. I know you and respect you, so I don't wanna look like a dick.
I was disappointed with 3 even though I still intend to get it. We worked hard to become experts, 3 was supposed to be our climax. But it makes all of us who spent a lot of time and effort getting good (I damaged my wrist a little) look and feel like we can't play for shit. It's like starting from scratch. It's depressing. I'm a damn good sight reader, can play through a song I've never played before on expert and average roughly 96 or 97%. But I know all the songs on 2 so I don't get to enjoy sight reading anymore and I was looking forward to acing 3. So much for that.
