Btw....did anyone actually watch the video to the end? Just wondering. That low singing isn't my normal range but.....well....come to think of it, nothing about that song is anything like what I normally do. But it was a hell of a lot of fun to surprise the crowd that way!
I seriously can't stop watching it. HAHAHAHAHA. My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling. Seriously, best thing ever!!!
Bookmark. I'm working out of town right now and I only have an old laptop with me (with 1/2 inch speakers, lol). I'll check it out this friday when I'm home where I've got real speakers..
Oh my god, right? I seriously LOL every time he does it. I was hearing about these dance moves. hahahaha. I'm glad he was able to pull off "white boy game" as smoothly as he did. The beanie and sunglasses were a nice touch. My whole life I've been waiting for a bearded white guy to sing "....and you even licked my balls" while grabbing his balls. Thank you Wiz for making all my dreams come true. Well almost all of them. You still have to convince your band to play Ruby Soho when I come to see you. I'm not holding my breath for that one though. An encore performance of this song when I get to see your band would be good enough. Make sure you tell your wife Thank You from me for recording it so I could see it.
I did have some dance moves worked out but I decided to bail on them for a couple of reasons. The first thing was that the stage was set up differently than what we usually have and that matters because of cords and a few other things (it's hard to see but I have the mic cord looped in my right hand and held in my left hand to make sure it doesn't get stepped on and come unplugged). The other thing was that I've never done this before and there were a lot of words to remember so I kind of dumbed it down to make sure I didn't miss the vocals. I probably could have done a little better on the vocals but I don't think it was too shabby for my first ever attempt at rapping on stage. It was fun.
Don't be too jealous. I didn't get to see it in person. I would have but I was out of town this past weekend when this magical moment happened. I thought for a second about changing my trip so I could be there but I had 2 other people going out of town with me. I couldn't do that to them.
I don't know if we will do it again. We decided to do it on that specific night, for that specific audience. I won't say that we'll never play it again but if we do it will probably be spontaneous and never planned in advance like it was this time.
I nominate this as Wiz's next cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phaJXp_zMYM&sns=em"]The Notorious B.I.G. - "Big Poppa" - YouTube
We will for the right price. I think we might be going to Colorado this summer and playing our way back to Iowa. And I don't know about doing anymore rap songs. Maybe. We'll see. Doing a halfway decent job on one song, one time doesn't mean I'm a good rapper. Just a guitar player who got lucky one time.
I think you could have a successful rap career if you ever decide to have a side project. I'd pay to see it but could you consult with me before you book your next show? You always book them when I'm busy or out of town. 3 damn shows I've not been able to go to. I'm sure your next one will be the end of March when I'm gone.
