i would like to share everything good I discover, and not just to keep it for myself.
Apart from people close in my life , this forum is a great way to reach people all over the world :

I have come across this "guarana" fruit from southamerica.
Powdered and mixed with honey it makes a tasty drink which gives you energy for the whole day.

It is more efficient than coffee and does not have the side effects of coffee
it has more coffeein than coffee.
1/2 - maximum 1 tea spoon per Cup is fully enough.
Without sweetener its a bit sour . I add honey.
You can get it from every health food/whole food store.
But not from big chain supermarkets

Native Indians have been using it just the same way. Up to this day.
I like it sometimes. Not everyday. Its a cool thing to drink besides, if you only drink water like I , then you enjoy that 1 "special drink". I was a heavy redbull, monster etc drinker before which gave me side effects. Stopped drinking it 2 years ago. ok enough privacy. this thread is about you.

    ...

btw guarana is the main ingredient of monster, redbull and co . If you take a closer look at the label you will always find in the ingredients list "guarana" . But this is not what makes redbull&co so unhealthy. It is the huge amount of sugar + artifcial coffein added to it that makes it so unhealthy.

I've heard of it before. Probably much better than energy drinks like Monster or Redbull; that shit is (barely) glorified soda.

But coffee is nice, and I haven't found any compelling evidence that its overall effect is unhealthful.

Too big of a coffee fan here. And too less disadvantages to switch. Now if i was actually indulging in Monster or Red bull on a regular basis I might be intrigued. But I don't get why that shit is so popular. Oh wait, its teens who love it. Never mind :p

Guarana gently stimulates the adrenaline system to combat fatigue without producing the harmful adrenaline shots. The large amount of bulk prevents its natural caffeine from being released in bursts, as is the case with coffee or black tea. The gradual release of caffeine makes much energy available to the body without depleting the body´s own energy resources.

Not sure that's an issue for the average coffee consumer.

Guarana is nasty, and bad for your blood pressure. Sorry to disagree, but most folks know that drinking those energy drinks are addictive and lead to aggression.

I'm all for coffee, or black tea, even some herbal teas occasionally.

But then again, I am OLD.

guarana is very potent , i use it only on special occasions, as did native indians only use it when going into the jungle. I rather stick to my green tea, sencha, from japan, which I drink daily and love most.

if i take guarana in the afternoon i can not sleep well at night. It is very potent. Much more than coffee.
But, because of the above mentioned reasons it is not as harmful as black tea or coffee.

by the way: the title of this thread is "guarana instead of coffee, red bull, monster" .
I dont know why some people can not read.
It is a good (temporary) bridge for people who have troubles getting off redbul, monster, coffee etc (like I had)
