Are you playing on PS3 or 360? On the 360, it's the LB, and it has no other function. You might be able to map the keys in the options menu. I've had no problem with it, and in fact have become quite good at shooting from a moving vehicle without using Frank's bullet time. There's no crosshair/dot until you hold the button though, so what I do often is just tap the button to get the crosshair/dot, but release it before he starts shooting. I finished the main story almost 2 weeks ago, I thought it was a bit short. Would have liked the heists to be more dynamic, and would have liked to see more interior locations.. You can't go inside any restaurants and hardly any shops, for example.. I'm being terribly picky, but there doesn't seem to be THAT much stuff to do once you've finished the story.. and I have like 300+ million on each character so I really can't spend it all. I'll stick up the gas stations just to get some action. The internet stuff is so sweet (And I love that you can buy tanks online) and well-done, so many activities but I just wish you could do more stuff. Maybe I haven't found it yet, but I'd like to be able to go scuba diving apart from on the 2 missions, for example. I'm hoping for (and kind of expecting) DLCs to add more missions, interior locations, purchasable property.. There's so much stuff that just seems to go unused, like the prison and military base. Saying that, I love this game. Trevor will probably go down in history as one of my all-time favorite characters of any medium. He just has so many great lines and his personality is who I am when I play any game where I can choose to be evil. Overall this is definitely the best GTA so far, it never feels like a chore, which both GTA:SA and GTA4 did at times. I've started over, with an aim to be less of a psychopath (I killed a LOT of innocents in my first playthrough, and I did every heist the most violent way) and gonna try to explore more and take my time. It'll be interesting to see how the online part works out, too, but so far it doesn't seem like it's even worth trying out for another few weeks at least. That was just one of his wife's many lovers. The yoga instructor cracks me up, and I wish it was possible to kill him..
It's ok because it's only black characters voiced by black people who say it. I think it's funny how much they use it, it's like they're trying to set a record or just taking the piss out of how upset people get by a word.. They will say it like 2-3 times in a sentence. One of the most hilarious moments in the game is when Trevor meets Franklin and goes "My n-word!"
I bet that's how they really talk, though, if like movies and music have taught me anything. Hell even the sports stars are all try hard gangster speech. With their sideways straight brimmed ugly ass hats.
That is how they speak. It's weird, if your not black using that word will label you as a racist and on the job you will be fired. But when they use it it is more like saying "what's up buddy". I guess there is a difference between "******" and "nigga" too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uvJzr0zZvk"]Teacher Explains the word "Nigga" - YouTube
I'm playing on the 360, and yeah this sounds like a good idea. It's indeed the problem you have no crosshair before shooting haha, so you push that left button and he starts shooting through the window and then I aim. If this makes the crosshair visible before shooting all the bullets from my gun it should help :2thumbsup: Yeah, sometimes I see locations like that prison near Sandy shores and I'm sure it will come up in some story mission later because it looks so detailed but it's not used? Probably in the downloadable content then, I agree. I think I've a lot of main story missions to do. Not the quickest gamer We'll see!
Ok, now get in touch with Lester and start a jewelry robbery! Then you will encounter Trevor shortly after and the real game begins
i really, really want this game now... my birthday is in a week and i've been dropping hints to my wife like crazy lol. makes me feel like a child... i'm turning 26 and hoping for a videogame for my birthday.
It might be used, I haven't 100%ed the game. But it's not used in the main story, nor is the military base and quite a few other locations that seem like they had a lot of work put into them. Did you get better at shooting from vehicles? Did you get it? I'm 30, and if GTA V was being released around my 31st birthday I would not be hoping for it, I would be goddamn expecting it! And now, a Trevor quote Floyd: "Well, what are we looking for?" Trevor: "I don't know, it's like porn, or the perfect turd. I can't quite describe it, but I'll know it when I see it!"
I love that there is so much humour in this game, in your face but a lot of subtile humor in the details as well. Like the changes in Floyd's apartment for instance "I thought amphetamines were supposed to make you tidy!" But no, I did not get a lot better at shooting from vehicles It is still causing me to die much too often Quickly release the shooting button sounded like a good idea but when you release it again the crosshair is gone again too. But anyway, I have to be on the move when they are shooting at me (especially with a helicopter amongst them) so it is hard to aim with everything moving Anyway, when I got a text from some friend of Trevor in prison there also seemed to be some invite to visit him. I drove up there to see if this could be done but appears not (so far). About the military base: I had a small mission in the main story were you had to steal a helicopter from the military base but I understand if you took the different approach in the plans you don't need the helicopter and I guess you will skip that part then. But it was a short mission anyway, a build up to a bigger main story mission. I suppose if you never had to go on that base you did take the other approach And the other thing about the military base is of course that it is restricted airspace so you have to watch yourself when you are flying. It really looks pretty from the air in both day and night. But yeah I expected more to happen on that location too.
Ah, that makes sense. I did every heist the most violent way possible in my first playthrough. I have stolen a fighter jet for each of my three guys from the military base, though, so I've spent a bit of time in there. I think I messed up on my second playthrough though cause I did one of the heists the same way.. I'd forgotten which method I used my first playthrough (Thank you, weed) In order to aim from the car, I tap LB to get the crosshair up, release before he starts shooting, and then adjust my aim. It is a bit tricky and you won't be taking down any helicopters (But that doesn't keep me from trying!) I find it pretty easy now, I think with a bit of practice it gets much better. But I mainly shoot from the car in fury when someone dares to make me crash; I don't like shooting at cops because it gives you the instant 3-star rating and choppers are a bit of a bitch to evade. I wish there was more to spend money on though. I'm a billionaire on all three guys on my first save now, and buying all the property will barely make a dent in my funds at this point. And it's not like I can spend all my money on military hardware; you buy a tank once, and you have it forever. I guess all that's left to do, apart from continuing my second playthrough, is play GTA Online, but so far that seems like a lot of waiting and loading.
Hmm well doesn't sound like you missed that much on that mission (merryweather btw), I think it is pretty much the same thing as stealing a plane form there. I will keep practicing :cheers2: And yeah, most of the time I am shooting at the cops when I already have a 3-star rating But I also had other situations people were pursuing me with guns, and then when I took the time to shoot at them from the car instead of just fleeing they got a few good ones and I'm wasted again. I will most likely skip the online part as usual Never got no xbox live gold either, otherwise I might have done more online multiplaying gaming already
I've actually been kind of enjoying the online aspect. They do plan to keep adding more stuff to it for basically as long as people keep playing it. They're also going to make it possible to create your own missions which could be fun.
What's the most fun aspect of the online stuff? Is there any multiplaying for instance? Hey, and what's with this dog of Franklin... I think it's ridicilous that you need another external device (smartphone) just to get everything out of this game. Well if it had a real special added value, but I can't see what it is. Now you can't even train that stinky dog! They could have just as easily incorporated those things in the game itself or am I missing something?
Yeah, initially you end up in free mode, which is the whole map with up to 16 total players roaming around. From here you can purchase properties, do jobs, race, deathmatch, etc. One you get a high end apartment you can do heists with friends.
Ah I see, up until 16. I already imagined a red dead redemption kind of online world were the reality aspect would be ruined by all kinds of crazy cowboys unloading their guns on everything and of course all kinds of crazy driving etc. etc. which is one of the reasons I never made an effort to go game online myself (although simulation race games which I am not really into because in SP the opponents are in automatic tracks are actually more interesting with online human opponents. But they can't do all kinds of crazy stuff except drive into you ).
What's nice is that you can go into passive mode while in free roam so no one can shoot at you. But yeah, still lots of crazy cowboys like in rdr
Yeah, that won't do lol. I have 2.1ghz you need at least 2.4 to play anything reasonable. I have GTA5 on PS3. Love it!!
