They both suck, but anything metal sucks the worst.

I like Grunge in some asspecs but in other I think are stuPid like I think A lot of grungers think that hippies where always Happy and optamistec and they were in a way but the dark that of grunge I think is just the Punk part of grunge and I think punk is the dumbist Idea ever because punk is imposalbe to stay true too because you rebell evertything. and well anyway I love tons of grunge music like grunge as music I like Grunge in any or other then Fashion, just blows

i think the influence of hippies is obvious in grungies

i don't like punk ideal either because it's about anti-conformity which is conformity in itself

I would say that if you want to get into more goth metal and like bands like nightwish and within temptation, you shoul check out :

    - Flowing tears ( amazing band!!)
    - Lacuna coil - youve heard them,surely!
    - Gothica
    - Edenbridge are good but some of their songs are better than other.
    - Autumn
    - Theatre of Tradgedy - really good band

There are lots more but some of them are either not as good as this lot or I simply havent been able to listen to yet.

    peace and love

First of all, the Grungers complain about the Hippy movement is not merely they're "always happy and optimistic," It's more than that.

    And here's some of it.

1.) The Hippy movement failed. The Grungers felt that the Hippies came so close to actually creating social change then they gave up.
2.) That the Hippies attitudes were too mellow. The Grungers felt that the Hippies should've been more aggressive in their approach.

3.) That after the 60's, the Hippy movement turned into something pathetic. What's left of it in the 70's is bunch of people who thinks that they're going to beat Nixon by giving out flowers on the side of the road.

And there's more, I just can't remember them right now.
