Cheers cadcruzer, there was a lot more on ebay than I ever thought there would be. Ive found a good hydrophonics shop in Lincoln though, which is about 45 mins from me, im heading there on Fri and will hopefully pick something up whilst im there. Im sure the price in the shops cant be any more than what that one has gone for on ebay !? £60ish ?
Nice one, Nem. Thats what ill be looking to buy on friday then, or something similar. You any idea how much that sorta light would set me back bought brand new from a high street hydro shop ? Im hoping humidity/ventalation etc shouldnt be a problem. My growing space is in an enclosed corner of my kitchen, so it is obviously quite open and airy... Thats prob hard to picture but ill hopefully get some pics on here once I get started. Plus ill have a small desk fan to keep the air circulating well.
A bog-standard 400w grow light can range from from £70 upwards. The more you spend the better the quality and reliability. Something like this will do fine for your first indoor grow. Remember if your going to take cuttings, you must do it before you force the plant into flowering. UK climate is OK to veg a plant outside during the summer months, then bring them indoors to flower. Square pot plants are better than round ones, you can cram more in. I'm sure you'll do fine.
Cheers for all the info Nemesis, once I get everything set up ill post a few pics on here and you can let me know what you think. Would also be interested to hear yours and Space Doubts views on the health of my plants once they get growing. One problem I have though, I planted my first seeds on Friday night and they now appear to be sprouting. My problem is, the root seems to have grown downwards in to the soil, but it has pushed the actual seeds upwards and these are now poking out just above the soil (if u can picture that). Also, the root seems to have grown straightly downwards which is all good, but the root has bent just at the top near the seed, and the stem/plant itself has not yet started growing upwards ? So to try n make sense of that.... the seed is now a few mm's above the soil with the root going downwards into the soil. Is it a case of simply needing more soil and covering the seed, then waiting for the plant to start growing ? Hope that makes sense... Cheers mate
Yep all sorted, just unsure why only 2 out of the 4 seeds have sprouted. Oh well, just got my fingers crossed that one of em turns out to be female, im buying my lights etc tmr then my set up is complete Did you have a good one then Space Doubt ?
