I actually mostly saw ad hominem remarks and attempts to discredit the messenger, not the message. The overall 'criticism' in this thread so far is a good example.

Edit: and silly attempts to shame eachother for having a diff opinion lol

Money can't replace the air we breathe, and the oceans are about to collapse. Commercial fishing will be impossible within twenty years, oxygen levels are dropping, cold water from melting ice is disrupting the normal flow of water in the oceans, and everything is dying except the jelly fish. Large areas of the oceans are now dead zones, because they don't have enough oxygen. Shove your head in the sand all you want, but these kids know all the details and are learning more every day along with the rest of us. As it is, over a quarter of the world economy still depends on the export of fossil fuels, and we either change everything or we're all dead.

  4. It's pretty sickening that people are acting like she's mentally ill for being passionate about climate change. Never care about anything but yourself if you don't want to be labeled "crazy," I guess.

Read what I said ! Yes she is mentally but not for being Passionate about climate change , She has Aspergers ,Depression and other mental health issues (it all documented ) I called it child abuse putting her up on stage that way

You never even Quoted what I said I would not have said" HERE" mental illness as her mental illness Sometimes it helps if you read whats Posted mate ! "here obvious Illness is being used as a Tool by people that should know better"

  13. If only Greta understood how hip apathy is. The more you act like there's nothing to care about, the less chance there is of anything effecting you, right?

She went up on her own free will.
You guys are acting like 16 year olds are children. 16 year olds are rebellious and not likely to do anything just because an adult wants them to.

And aspergers syndrome is not an illness.

And depression certainly doesnt make her thoughts less valid. If depression invalidates one's own thoughts then that means like 75% of the population cant stand up for what they believe in because who hasnt suffered from depression?

People with Asperger syndrome see, hear and feel the world differently to other people. If you have Asperger syndrome, you have it for life – it is not an illness or disease and cannot be ‘cured’. Often people feel that Asperger syndrome is a fundamental aspect of their identity.

Autism is a spectrum condition. All autistic people share certain difficulties, but being autistic will affect them in different ways. Some people with Asperger syndrome also have mental health issues or other conditions, meaning people need different levels and types of support.

^exactly. It is not an illness.
You're trying to use her diagnosis to invalidate her.

Good, then we're in agreement that her having Aspergers and depression has nothing to do with her message :) my apologies for misunderstanding.

It's like an autism type thing. My mom thought I was afflicted by Asperger's syndrome back in the day.

She seems coherent. I don't know why people have a problem with her. They're uneducated and trying to argue. It's frustrating.

  20. mally, you say that her mental illness is obvious, though. How is it obvious? She seems perfectly normal to me, astute and eloquent. I can only assume you're saying it's obvious she has a mental illness because she is expressing herself passionately about something.
