The Nobel committies have increasingly decided that they must make political statements in their choices, because the price of freedom has gone through the roof in the free world. They can never be respected for promoting peace, if they do nothing to encourage it.

You mean like the scientists who have told you how to stop it for years? The problem that we need to solve is now is a much more severe one and it's because people ignore it and assume somehow it will fix itself. We can't fix a lot of things that even 10 years ago we could have if we had done things we do now.

Preventing wars does nobody any good whatsoever, if nobody stops the environmental destruction, which has already caused a severe 30 year drought in east Africa. We already have countless solutions to the problem, and Extinction Rebellion is attacking all the minor bit players in this drama, while Donald Duck attempts to declare himself emperor of the world for life. Greta is a child, and expressing her anger and confusion is understandable, but if nobody is actually thinking about how to stop these idiots and turn things around, they might as well all be pissing in the wind.

 

Whilst it is out there, often it is that the messenger is criticised, ridiculed and undermined as a personality and not as a herald of Truth "Distraction, Diversion and Division" so to speak.
Rather than seeing Greta as an individual who …., we should see her as 'one of many who ...' and receive the appropriate support of others - who should know better, - lest the/a sustainable future be beyond us far sooner than we think IMO

(iii) I think the word is 'Suggestions' not 'Solutions' - as so, so many have failed to be embraced
(iv) My concern is that the figurehead is not 'the hand that rocks the cradle' and moreover my worry is those which back and my opinion suggest such rhetoric and action

- It is this that should be maintained - she is young enough to deservedly merit further nominations in (what one hopes will be a better) future

 

(i) Their children might disagree, seeing as it is their lives which are now endangered. Children of Fundamentalists across the US, have abandoned church services en mass and are steadily adopting more liberal views. This has been happening all across the country, as the white population implodes and their own children progressively disown everything their parents stand for. Its sad to disown your own parents, but the US has the worst social record in the developed world, and deserves all the contempt it gets.
(iv) The figurehead is a figurehead, because there is nobody leading the fucking lynch mob.
(v) Anger has its place, even raw anger and flailing out at the entire world, but somebody has to start focusing it to more productive use, or they merely muddy the waters.

 

(i) Being as I'm from the UK, I don't feel qualified to comment on US society standards - but would make the observation that there consequences to Government's actions - and if Revolution is the only option, then whilst one may not agree with the views one can understand the desire to follow their principles
(iv) lol - The problem; as I see it, is that has to be a lynch mob - and (supposedly) more intelligent minds allow the policies, practices and prattle of 'Mr President' continue
(v) True - which is why any concerted effort needs Good Management, Financial support and longevity - maybe the next generation can make a better job of it than we of olde day principles.

The younger generation of Americans have been patiently waiting for the baby boomers to die, on the assumption that will solve all their problems, which is why things have only grown worse. In over ten years of my conducting an informal survey, not a single person, not even Harvard law students who attempted to gang up on me, could give me the simple distinction between a lynch mob and a democracy. Storming the palace with knives and pitch forks when the shit hits the fan, is neither a revolution nor any kind of solution. Someone has to address the underlying problem, which all my research indicates can only be done using automation.

AI will make it possible for honest people to get ahead in this world, because corruption makes people even more stupid than we are naturally. Voting the bums out of office, waiting for them to die out, and storming the palace will get you nowhere, because Donald Duck is all the proof anyone should need, that there's nobody in charge around here.
