I thought it was time to find a safe spot online (I'm on a nearly year-long hiatus from TwiX, no other social media except Blue Sky which I'm currently avoiding as well)... perhaps find some folks with whom I actually share common interests/thoughts/ideals. I am a 50-year-old woman (as of this past Feb.), decidedly & eternally single, nary a munchkin, unsuccessful, unemployed, broke-as-a-joke, and increasingly isolated due to efforts to remove myself from toxic situations/people. Had some fairly recent family drama (on-going), more recent friend drama... and I am so damn sick of drama. Without rambling on too much longer... I'm from Michigan, I love weed, I eat plants, I drink beer, I still smoke, I have adopted cats, I cook a lot, I'm attempting to grow things (haven't the foggiest clue what I'm doing), I'm not outdoorsy (love nature but prefer it stay off me), I'm highly anxious, I don't "go out" to social places or anywhere with crowds (pre-pandemic), I still mask in stores, I have a background in performing arts which I have happily let go by the wayside, I #CantStandSitting, I am not a phone-zombie, I am an old-school physical media lover & movie collector & gamer, I don't do streaming anything, I dig blues/jazz/soul/funk music the most... and I am desperately aiming for a more peaceful, happy, hopeful, useful, fun, & creative mindset... and a few new friends certainly wouldn't hurt.
Glad to meet you https://www.hipforums.com/forum/members/madamsarcastra.330138/ Hope you find this place comfortable and fun
Welcome!! This place was pumping about two decades ago and still has a lot of regular visitors. I am one of those visitors from Australia.
Nothing beats being woken up in the morning by the cat combing your hair with his paws, to gently remind you that it is breakfast time.
great intro. Love me some kitties, collected movies (600 tapes),single(tried marriage once--didn't work). Well, those are a few things I can relate to-----welcome to the forums!
We have a relatively large collection of films too. Vhs & dvd. They take up alotta space. Trying to transfer some to sdcards.
I got a media book or something like that from Amazon. It holds like 300 DVD discs. I down sized my collection into that and was able to save so much space.
We mostlly stick by our b&w fims. & often we notice obscure remakes. For example sea of grass & mcclintock.
