realized something, great for background noise

I mean the lyrics are absolute shit I mean I got that you were alone in the first line, you didn't have to say it 9 fucking different ways to establish it

but as long as you don't listen to it and you just have it as pollutionary noise, it's not bad

as soon as you start listening to it though things get bad really fast, really really fast.......

edit: oh yeah, and throwing on the word fucking FOR ABSOLUTLY NO REASON!!! it doesn't emphasise anything, it doesn't help the song, it just lays there like a dead dog (in the song I was just listening to anyway, hell maybe they learned to swear in other songs) my god throwing in prophanity in an attempt to be edgy..... that is stupid

Of course they are...Warner Bros really changed their marketing strategy (as I'm sure yer know).....green day enjoyed the full benefits of this...and I'm sure they enjoyed playing all those saturday morning kids shows

 

They sound the exact same now as they did back then.

 

Billie Joe annoys me so much! His voice is... ah I can't think of any singer so annoying! "When September Ends" is awful, and his voice makes it so much worse.

As for guitar, well, if you have played guitar for a month practicing half an hour a day, it's likely to are better than him, or at least can play most of Greenday's songs

I dislike Greenday, but in particuar the current Greenday works, such as American Idiot. If I had to choose, I would listen to their earlier stuff by far.

 

Hey, each to his own, in my opinion theres so much better stuff out there.

 

green day is awesome...... and for the record, billie joe can really play the guitar, he just doesnt try that hard on the albums, except for american idiot. his chords are alot more distinguished in that album. because it was political and i think they wanted to open up to more people...... but all the other albums were just about jammin and having fun!!!

 

No, I'm not. Their sound really hasn't changed much at all from Dookie.

 

I hated American idiot when i bought it but now it has grown on me (not all the songs though especially "American idiot").

 

Green day isn't that bad when you compare them to other newer "punk" groups.

 

Alot of people say that, however the tune itself annoys me so I don't bother with it.

 

I don't know..I don't like them, they are so boring and sloppy for me

 

I loathe Boulevard Of Broken Dreams so much. It just reaks of lame candyass punk

 

as does everything else they've ever done, with the exception of "Warning"

 

..but that was a cover, wasn't it? or did someone recently cover that, or did GD take the main riff from somewhere else..?

 

I like greendays older stuff when they were making music because they had a passion for making good music.

Now they are too comercialised, they dont make good music anymor because they dont care for it, they are just making music to keep the fans happy and for the money.
