    *joy* Look what I found!

'What's wrong w/ malcolm x? Greatest "american" without a doubt, better than King in my books.

Sense you seem to dislike X im going to get off on hearing your reasoning.

    Enlighten me plz.

Is it because he was at one time Muslim? Is it cause he went against Christianity... was it cause he advocated self defense? Or was it simply because he exposed the truth about the american system. Maybe it was because he got killed by the government, or because he along with King helped bring somewhat civil rights to a country which is teeming of injustice? Or do you along with other misinformed americans think that Malcolm X stood for racism and violence against whites? Or is it something im missing, possibly the black nationalist movement... or did you "see somethin once on tv".
Im probably missing your points, so imma stop rattling off shit...

Its funny that people will credit King so easily yet knock down Malcolm X... These people dont understand that king and X werent enemies, they had the utmost amount of respect for one another, and commanded that others give both of them the same amount of respect... they were 2 people who recognized the same problem, they just had different ideas of how to fix the problem.

I credit those who have the guts to speak their mind as well as the common truth, without fear of backlash or abuse. Courage is a tremendous trait to possess :)

Malcolm X is a hero, with martin luther king they helped bring down the racist systme. Maybe it's beacsue X was also a socialist. As was king btw, he has been turned into a libreal by the mdedia but he opposed the opressive system of capitalism as well.

malcolm x stood for a lot more than just racial issues, he stood for many other things... His ideas werent all related to race, but theres no doubt thats what he was fighting for... He was a freedom fighter, who went from the slums and having nothing to being one of the most influential leaders in american history... and he didnt even really use his religion to do it... although perhaps that is where some of his ideas came from. and yes, not only blacks have been inspired by Malcolm X. Anyone who values the prospects of equality and justice for everyone can find great respect in Malcolm X. There's been so much misinformation about what he was supposed to represent at the time... Anyone who understands the malicious system which exists in the US i think can relate to X. Malcolm X died for the rights of every man, not just black, hes a modern day Jesus Christ. There hasnt been anyone who so influenced people in america as much as Malcolm X did to this day... people would argue Martin Luther King was more influential, but that is debatable. So yeah I get a lil worked up when people try to further the misinformation and lies about malcolm x... and im white... what of it?

I agree with x on his stance toward racial issues, but that's not where I see the most inspiration from him... the picture I have in my signature, and the quote made by him isnt a quote about fighting for one races equality than so much as it is fighting for the rights of every person.
