Cord, I'm talking about the people like George Washington and Martin Luther King, Jr, who are being compared to Ellen Degeneres and John Edwards. The show is taking people who actually accomplished things of importance and putting them on the same list as figreheads who were created and promoted by networks and companies... and then asking the public to decide whose accomplishments are more valid! It's an outrage.

thats the way it was done here in Canada too...the top ten each got their own 1 hour special [played a few times each] then the "spokes person]" for each candidate [all canadain celebs or politicians, the spokes people that is] debated one agianst another in a big show off, then it was to the final vote...and as previous posteers said, Tommy Douglas won...other top 10-ers were Gretzkey, Sir John A MacDonald, David Suzuki, and Alexander Graham Bell...

 

this list makes me sad. not only are we americans screwing up now, but we can't even think of a greater american than tom cruise?

 

I guess the winner is supposed to be announced in a few hours or so. I sure hope Reagan doesn't win... that would be sad.
