a friend of mine was once in Italy as an exchange student and she was in this small little town, cant remember the name and she told me that the state would give students in school paint so they could paint murals in walls in the streets.
    It suddenly wasnt vandalism.
Im not saying all graffiti is right, but not all of it is wrong.

I think graffiti is wonderful. Afterall, the public pay tax to the givernment who put up all these shitty statues and placks on walls saying why a building is special. but why should the government be the only ones who decide what is on the walls in public? why shouldnt every person be allowed to put what they want on a wall?

I'd have a problem if it was on someones property, like a house. I see it as a form of expression; and i'd much rather be walking down the street looking at some kids grafitti than a big billboard for McDonalds or something.

It depends where it is and whether he's vandalising someone's property. For example if they're spray painting some vile concrete building then I'd probably be pleased, but if they were spray painting someone's house then I'd be pissed. It also depends whether it was artistic or not, like I wouldn't approve if they were mindlessly "tagging" a wall but if they were making a political statement or something "beautiful" then I'd be quite happy. Also I don't approve of hate graffiti.

EDIT: Generally I don't think that something is a crime unless it actually hurts someone, this means that crimes against "face-less" entities either should exist or be treated much less seriously.

I definitely wouldn't just call the cops on someone if I saw them doing graffiti. I hate the police and dont think that anyone deserves to have the police called on them for expressing themselves. Graffiti is pretty sweet...I'd probably join in.
