I keep forgetting to post this. Graeme died at his home on Thursday, November 11. He was the only original member of the Moodies still performing with them having co founded the band in 1964 with Ray Thomas, Mike Pindar, and Denny Laine. Justin Hayward and John Lodge joined in 1967. Ray Thomas died in 2018. Edge provided lyrics and vocals as well as his drumming for songs such as Late Lament, Departure, In the Beginning, and The Dream. When the white eagle of the North is flying overhead The browns, reds and golds of autumn lie in the gutter, dead. Remember then, that summer birds with wings of fire flaying Came to witness spring's new hope, born of leaves decaying. Just as new life will come from death, love will come at leisure. Love of love, love of life and giving without measure Gives in return a wondrous yearn of a promise almost seen. Live hand-in-hand and together we'll stand on the threshold of a dream.
Oh man---they were right there through the 60s --70s for all of us mental and physical travelers. And they did a beautiful job of it.
