Come on, you're being ridiculous. Can you not accept that it all depends on the type of fats you are eating? There is nothing wrong with eating a curry every day, contrary to common misconception curries are very healthy, I lived in India for 6 months and I've never been as heathy in all my life. Absolutely. A good curry is a million times more healthy than anything you get in McDs, with or without the hydrogenated fats.
Go eat his diet for five years then eat supersize McDs every bloody day. Yes, I can accept it does depend on the types of fats you eat. Eating one or two McDs a week as part of a healthy balanced diet and active lifestyle - is not going do do you any harm. Correct me If I am wrong your average Chiken Tika Masala has 49grams of fat and a Happy Meal has 29grams of fat Ok, lets not compare foods. Don't you see my point is one or two McDs a week is not going to make you fat/obese. Stuffing them down your neck in large quantities will. That is what the documentary maker did. If he had eaten one or two a week and carried on his normal routine he would not have reacted in the way he did. He wasn't really talking about what was in the food just the way we as a society tend to consume them...and fast food in general. Though I maybe giving him more credit than he deserves.
I read title and then last page, is this about booze or mcdonalds... I am unsure of which one I reply about...
Which ever you like I imagine would be ok. Just don't talk about either while stuffing your face with McDs or are pissed. Or both.
OK Duncan, tell ya what, next time I have the opportunity I will go into a McDs and buy a vegebugger and frits, and eat it, then I'll report back to this thread about what I thought it tasted like. Last time I tried a portion of these chips from these places was in bugger king, when I needed some food late at night after a shift, and i went there for some curly chips. I felt sick while I was eating them they were that bad. This kind of fast food shit, free from hydrogenated fats though it may now be, does not constitute "part of a healthy diet", but it can be taken in moderation along with an otherwise healthy diet without necessarily causing any detrimental effect on your health. This does not mean that it is healthy. What the guy you are talking about was trying to show that if you try to live on this food day in day out, pretty soon it will fuck you up. If you live on proper indian food everyday though, which I have done, it will not fuck up, but instead it will be good for you. So fucking what if it contains more fat, it depends how much you eat, and more importantly what type of fats are in it, and how much exercise you get too. The type of Indian food I like to live on is stuff like tarka dal, sag paneer, chapati etc.. these are all VERY good for you. Next time you are in a McDs take a look around you at the complexion of the people eating, then go to a mosque or a krishna temple or a good curry house and compare.
Duncan, now! Go for it. I like them. You may not. I'm not a big fan of curly fries of normal fries. I usually pass them onto a friend. I'm not talking about the taste though. That is a matter of taste. I hate vegeterian curries (I'm a vegie.) It can. A "Healthy diet" is the nutrional intake you have, right? Factor in a McDs to a diet it can be no problems at all. I don't mean to be semantic here. I thought he was. I know it will. That is what I said. Both have saturated fat in them. I know it depends on how much exersice you get...that being my point as well. I know they are. I do know what you mean. You can find "healthier" options at McD and the standard McD meal is OK (nutrionaly speaking). A mixture I imagine. Muslims and Hari Krishnas don't drink, smoke, take drugs or stay up till 3am at some nightclub like your average McDs customer. May I add, my skin is fine.
I love curly fries, just not Bugger Kings for some reason, probably because their chip oil is the devils ear wax. No you implied that he was eating too much, not simply living on it as his staple diet. I could live on rice and dal for two weeks alone and not get ill, but if I eat that kind of food just once I instantly feel sick, like I said. I know someone who lives alone in a cave in the moutains of the himalayas every year and lives on that alone, and given his skin is not very fresh, he doesn't get ill. He also doesn't masterbate and is 100% celibate, which is another debate altogether. I doubt he could do that living on McDs hamburgers. True, but contrary to common belief saturdated fat is not the enemy, it is trans fats. Eating margerine full of polyunsaturates and getting no exercise is worse for you than eating loads of butter and burning it of, because these modern supermarket alternatives take out all the nutritional value that is in butter and vegetable oils. I took the liberty to do a little research, and this is what I found on McDs website. Amongst all the other chemicals I've never even heard of, there food, if you can call it that, does seem to contain quite a lot of hydrogenated fats. So I'm afraid I wont be conducting that experiment I said i would. I thought you said their food was healthy, doesn't look like it to me.
It seems to be about McDonalds now, or more generally whether or not the government should have the right to interfere with what people eat/consume.
you ain't in india. and from what my indian pals tell me, english curry is like american chinese food.
In my heart I am in India. Generally speaking curries in the UK don't compare to India, but there are a lot of very good curry houses dotted around the country which are just as good. The food from the mosque in Edinburgh is every bit as good, and there is a very good vegetarian restaurant near Euston in London which does some very authentic indian food, to name but two.... There are plenty of great chefs here, so your comparison to american chinese food is quite a bit of the mark, I know because I have tried it and I wouldn't feed it to a dog.
bs. we got a few good chinese restaurants here, too, but that doesn't mean the vast majority isn't complete shit. just like with curry in the uk.
I'm not keen on BK either. He was eating too many McDonalds. I'm not sitting here trying convince you eating McDonals as your staple diet is good for you or does not make you fat. I like how you alter your words: ill and sick. Is it intentional? Would eating a McDonalds make you ill? I keep saying eaten a few times a week as part of a well balanced diet and an active lifestyle. I never said you could. You seem to thinK I am saying McDonalds food can replace every meal. I'm not that bloody stupid. Oh yeah. I've just learnt McDs is only Trans free in a fraction of their outlets. If I were comparing food i'd look at the nutrional values tbh. I'd probably not instictively look at the ingriedients. I have no idea what type of fats are being used in the curry houses you frequent. I think you mentioned you knew what went into the ones you eat - so perhaps you could provide the ingriedients of a selection of the meals at your favourite curry house. As you can say your curries taste nice and it depends on the amount of exersice you have, till the cows come home, it will not be fair untill we have a fair comparison. If we do not compare foods, then please just go over what I have already said. You say you have some good curry houses near you - what does that actually mean? They are: Clean, well run and friendly? I'm not concerned if the curry you eat tastes nice or if McDonalds makes you sick (or ill for that matter - sorry.) So please do not substitute hard facts with feelings as it is not fair. If eaten responsibly.
it doesn't bother me, I don't drink the $1 beer... although I was sippin' on a few Lucky's the other day, but I didn't buy it.
Same thing. It wouldn't make me feel very good, the smell of the food alone in these places (when I go there to use the toilet) is enough to turn my stomach. That means I would feel sick, nauseous... not the same thing as ill. It is not part of a well balanced diet though, as I said, it can be taken along side a healthy diet in strict moderation without necessarily killing you, but I for one wouldn't risk it. I would not put any of that crap in my body, it's poison. Nope. That's not what i think. I wouldn't trust any claim of nutritional value from them, not when I can see the crap they put in their food. Ghee and various types of vegetable oil usually is what they use. I don't have to provide any list of ingredients to justify my argument, but if I were to ask any of them I'm sure they would be happy to tell me. I asked them once at the mosque in edinburgh if the food was 100% veggie, and they said if anything gets into anything else it's ruined. All the meat is 100% halal, they take great care with the food out of respect and to send a message of peace to white people following 911, they are not doing it for maximum profit, although they are making a bomb these days, not literally though (bad unintentional pun there). They are probably making more money than any McDs is anywhere in the country, because their food is better quality. I usually notice when they try and rip me off, and I tell them. A lot of the fuckers will try and sell you cheddar cheese when you order sag paneer, and they will argue till the cows come home it's proper indian cheese. I've walked out of restaurants without paying for my food on several occasions when they have done that, and never gone back. Another thing they do is put in tinned vegetables, in those cases I usually pay and tell them their food sucks on the way out. It's probably about 1 in every 4 curry houses is worth going to if your veggie, and probably 1 in every 10 are special. On the other hand every McDs is basically the same, selling the same artery clogging shit. Yes, yes and yes. Can you say the same about McDs? Do the staff who work there actually give a shit. The facts are there, back up scientifically, and by my own rasa. No such thing, although you can eat less and naturally lessen the rick of developing cancer and heart disease from it. You see the types of fat content in McDs hamburger sticks to your veins, and unlike old fashioned cloggy fats it's really hard to get off again, because of the chemical structure of the trans fats that are produces when they break down. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
