    I like this one:

Even when people are doing some stupid shit and deserve what they get, some dogs are just all win.

The point is, stacy, that this statement is akin to "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black."

You don't seem to get it that every dog is an individual. Certainly their breed will have a strong influence on how that dog turns out, but in this case you seem to have some sort of confusion as to what the traits of an actual american pitbull terrier are (the term pitbull has become a little ambiguous because of the amount of crossbreeding that has been done, as well as a general inability to identify a tru pitbull). Aggressive towards humans is not what was wanted out of these dogs. Aggression towards other animals, dogs and prey animals, was. The real problem with "pitbulls" today is irresponsible breeders and irresponsible owners... dogs do not "just snap" they give off tons of warning signs.

agreed. looks like a pit to me, he is just hanging on and keeps going back to the bull. too fast and agile to be a bulldog.

:iagree:It's how they are led within the pack. Certain breeds are more dominate than others and require a strong assertive leader who sets boundries. When you see some one walking a pit and it is out in front the pit is the alpha in that pack.

the early bulldogs were bred for bull-baiting. a butcher kept a pack of them inside his house with his family, and used them to kill bulls that needed to butchered for meat. then it evolved into sport. when people started breeding bull-terrier mixes, and bull-baiting was later outlawed, the people found it easier to hold clandestine matches putting two dogs against each other. you only need 10 sq ft or so of space for that. the dog handlers also kept these trained fighting dogs inside, around their children, and the dogs were trusted.

it is definitely a problem of ill-breeding, cross-breeding, ignorant and irresponsible owners. people think the things are just so cute and buy them as pups, but a year later they don't know what to do and just tie the thing up, take it to a shelter, etc. so there is the instant gratification problem in a society full of high speed and instant rewards.

but society has also just become soft, and fearful. I mean.. you know there is a problem when kids can no longer play dodge ball in school, so the non athletic kids don't get hurt feelings. and when the losing team in a soccer match gets trophies also. we are just breeding pussies these days.

cute dog :p just curious, do you have you have some type of insurance to legally own a pit bull? I'm sure many people don't, but I've heard that somewhere before.

no, but I've heard about legislation in some areas where they require a 6ft+ tall fence, and private liability policies of around $250k.

but there are home insurance companies who will drop you or jack up the rates if you own a dog that even looks like a pitbull. I can't remember which ones offhand, though.

Oh okay, well that's stupid. Not all dogs are violent... hell, a poodle is a vicious dog, do they jack your rates for having a POODLE? lol

Hmm, okay, yeah I heard something about it when I was considering the idea of getting one but someone told me that... I was like, 'wtf?'

    LMFAO, that's so sad.

Competition is good for the soul, man. Why in the world would any school do this? what the fuck is all this garbage about 'feelings' and how we must considerate them in the dumbest situations... lol sports...

if your dad dies, then i feel sorry for you. if you lose a game of dodge ball and get hard feelings about it, your problem not mine.
