That sounds like a deal When I talk about the american west I generally mean the american frontier area during the 1800s But the culture and history and esp nature of Oregon is really appealing too. I would also try to incorporate places like LA and San Francisco in such a journey, Vespucci beach etc. just for its own quaintness. Yes, I would probably try to fill up the max. 3 months when i go there.

Most times, including this one, I really can’t say he’s wrong, to be honest. This notion of not doing what we can because others aren’t seems childish and lazy. On the other hand, I get why ppl are rolling their eyes a bit because no one came to this thread to be shamed. ( I KNOW that’s not what you were going for Asmo, just saying)

What do you want to do in LA? I'm so close to it, so it feels like everything is under a microscope. There are probably more good clubs than I'm aware of and places to eat that I haven't been to. I think there are museums I haven't really explored, and tours I haven't taken too. Hmm. Maybe I will venture out that way myself!

 

I just want to experience the life on the streets and feel the vibe. At first instance I have zero interest in visiting museums in LA but granted, i have no idea what it has to offer in that regard. But i don't travel for art generally.
It's just that its such a typical place we see a lot of in culture and media, i wouldn't mind taking a look. If it would be sensible and fun I would likely want to visit South central too (as i understand it has been renamed?). We need a hf member from the hood! So they can show others around there. Happily we already have Fudds in Gotham... er Philadelphia

 

I picked someone up in Compton one time to give them a lift to a rave. That guy was an asshat as it turns out. He ended up walking all over me in a forum setting similar to what we have here. But anyway, Compton isn't terribly different than any other residential area I've been to. They have houses and stuff. The place was in good repair and all. I've been to some bad areas, and not just south of Hollywood. There are places in the valley (San Fernando) I don't particularly want to go try to live in.

I think you should visit LA. As for museums, I know there is the Getty. I'd do that at least once in your life. I don't remember how much it costs. I think they charge for parking as well as admission. Whatever... lol.
