Like, you start to type something into that box and it finishes whatever you're about to search for. Sometimes I will type something in the box just to see if it offers what I am thinking about as a choice. I find that with an unsettling frequency, whatever I am thinking about is one of the first choices offered. Sometimes it's the only choice, and it is often something really random and not exactly obvious. Dafuq?
It's obviously not that random and obviously quite obvious. I know people like to think they are original - Google proves otherwise.

Im cool, I use the little AOL search in the corner.. ^.. rarely use google, however they are powered by the same engine. that filling it out before Im done. I dont like it..
that's because it uses a combination of YOUR previous search terms, then googles most popular search terms, and finally the rankings. So because it incorporates your search history, it appears that it is "reading your mind". Try it, as it starts to fill in the text you will notice that the first "guesses" it lists are actually terms you have recently used that begin with the same letters.
