I don't know if fredio will play it again Tripn, but there are much more important interviews coming up besides mine :) It was very exciting for me to be able to help get the word out about Goodstock.

Well.. great news travels fast, this morning I got email that Artie Kornfeld has offically joined Goodstock2007. Lots of exciting things are starting to pop for Goodstock2007.

We all heard of Woodstock1969, well Artie Kornfeld was The Father Of Woodstock. The idea of Woodstock originated with Artie. It was the first of it's kind and with it came experience. Some people say it was a disaster, I was there, it was and it wasn't.

There was centainly a few more arrivals then expected. In order to keep a peaceful gathering the fence came down, there was no way to stop the flood of people that kept coming over it. I was there I saw it.

The 'sponsors/profiteers' ect saw an oportunity and took it, leaving Artie, and the people who brought tickets high and dry. The tickets were only 6$ then and everyone did hear all the bands and be part of the happenin'. The worst was the bands didn't get paid, but with the noteriety they became filthy rich/famous, so again where was the real damage. The crooks got rich is the only part that really sucked. Artie was not involved in that part of it.

Woodstock was a sucess bc it was the love for rock and roll we all shared and love for our brothers and sisters. That is what called us to Woodstock. It was the ideal

There has been recreations of Woodstock that didn't fare well. Artie was asked but did not accept the invations to work on these projects and did not indorse them. With that being said. I'd like to turn the attention on Goodstock2007. It is not a Woodstock recreation. It is something Larry thought of when he was reuniting his own band Mind Garage. He was so inspired by his love of Rock and Roll to share his happiness with everyone who felt inclined to bring back the feeling of the 60s/70s music, which lead us to the vision of Peace, Love and Rock and Roll.

Out of this mindset Goodstock2007 was born.

When Artie was approach by Larry McClurg of Mind Garage, the founder of Goodstock2007, he tought is was a good idea so he has been working behind the scenes adivsing Larry these past couple of yrs.

Larry just informed me today that Artie Kornfeld has offically joined Goodstock and his presence and experience will be a great benefit to Goodstock2007, the bands and the people she represents.

I urge everyone to get tickets now while they are on sale for 75.00, the price will go back up to 100.00 shortly. www.goodstock2007.com

Unlike Woodstock, The Goodstock2007 Tickets ARE guarenteed refundable for acts of GOD, ect. There is nothing to lose folks and a whole lot to gain.

    Bright Blessings to you all
    sh

Another question. Will it just be bands that were around in the 60s, or will there be some new or recent bands too?

There will be a mix of a little of everything. Some older and well known bands, some musicians from older bands that have re-formed for the Goodstock reunion, Some older musicians with completely new acts, a few tribute bands, Some newer & younger music, folk, blues. Some acts ill be well known nationally, some will be well known regionally. Some will contain musicians who were well known back in the day, some acts will be great musicians who are relatively unknown. It will be basically a mix of great music and great musicians from all over the place.

Great to have you on board Libertine. Goodstock has several bands volunteers and workers that are from Hip Forums.

The first time Goodstock was mentioned in public was in the forums.. goodstock has drawn people to the forums and vise versa. I am thankful we all have this venue to connect and exchange ideas. How else would we know about all the great musical events going on all over the place.

I hope everyone has a fantastic time where ever they go and in what ever they do. It's all about being happy and doing what pleases the spirit. It would be grand to meet everyone and see their smilling faces.

Goodstock will be the first of her kind, if we can make goodstock a success it will open up the music industry and pave the way for more festivals to manifest without outragous prices that average folks can't afford. Any contribution is a step toward freeing up the music. That is something that is good for everyone.

There are parts of our usa that has a pretty rough time with their economy, WV is one of these places. It would help thousands of people in the area by boosting the economy and bring revenue to build schools and better roads, help tourisum and a vast ammount of other programs could arise. There are so many great possibilities with Goodstock.

Bright Blessings and lets make Goodstock the greatest rock and roll event ever

Ha ha... this is going to be a blast!

Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Seeds... the list goes on and on.

I consider it a PRIVILEDGE to be a Goodstock representative.

I am going to promote the hell out of this event. Helping set-up or whatever else there is to do before and after my performance.

It's all about sharing the joy!

    Peaceman,
Goodstock has all ages of people playing music, it's not just for us oldies. Rock and Roll has no age limit, it is timeless. It is like the ocean's waves that lap against the shore, ever changeing yet the same rythem.

Check out the bands list often, Goodstock is growing.

Thank you Mike. got er' done.

Heads Up!!! Goodstock is about to launch a full scale promotion, Now would be the best time to scoop up them early bird tickets before they are gone. I'm telling you now so you get them first, I really would like to see the people I have been sharing my soul with these past few years and I'm sure a lot of you feel that way about ones that have become close to your heart in the forums. Goodstock would be a perfect oportunity to do just that.

Goodstock has something for everyone. No one will be disapointed and we will all have a memory that wil last a life time.

Libertine, you go brother, tell everyone so no one will miss out. Pass the word people.

    Bright Blessings

Well, you all know I'll be there with bells on. Libertine, did you know that the thread 'Anyone heard this rumor' here in festivals is a goodstock thread. I accidently hijacked the thread, I really didn't mean to it just sorta happened without my realizing it.

I had not heard of the anniversery of the summer of love and I thought maybe they were taking about Goodstock as we had just named her. Sorry steveinbutte forgive my dumbassedness. I wasn't paying attention. My Bad.

Any way, Goodstock needed to have her own thread, but most of the info on GS is in the summer of love thread. I didn't want to yank chains and repete everything in a new thread, so I just went with it.

I did however open a Goodstock thread as an explination of how GS was born, and the history of her beginning. I opened that thread in The Garden Forum as not to clog up Drumnmamas Festival Forum. We don't want to keep opening new threads and piss anyone off for duplicating post.. so lets just work from the ones we have now. :)

With that said... On With The Show!!!

With Artie Kornfeld on board Goodstock will be rollin' in high gear. Things will start happenin' fast, as the time draws nearer to the Show, time will fly by and the work will be intence. The knitting will begin.. that means schedueling will begin, getting the band list in order what music each band will play, setting up stages, lighting and sound. Sectioning off campsites, vending space, parking.. good grief..lol

The paper work is astounding, the contracts and negociations on the contract riders are difficult to accomodate the personal needs of each band and their people. With about 50 bands plus their roadies +, that's a lot of accomdating :p

It all good tho' it's part of the journey, Goodstock as always been on a steady course forward, ever flowing towards her destiny to manifest. It is the time, a time of rekindling what has been a burning amber in our souls, knowing that someday we would be called again to gather in celebration of life, freedom and our love of the Music itself..

    Bright Blessings

My dad said I can go! He said if a graduate he'll help me pay to go as a graduation present. I'm getting a job to help pay as well. Omg I'm so excited! I'm trying to get at least two other people to go with me. We'll be going by Greyhound bus and might need someone in the area to pick us up when we arrive to WV. I'm trying to figure out in advance how long it will take to get there. The bus scheduling says it'll take two days and I'm guessing we wanna get there either on or the day before the 19th. Prob is the bus doesn't go to Summersville. It'll stop somewhere near or something. Maybe someone kind can give us a ride to the fest? We'll be staying in a nearby hotel more than likely. Hopefully they won't be all full up by the time we reserve a room. Hopefully everything wil go smoothly.

I'll be going too and I'm from AZ traveling with hopefully two other people by Greyhound bus. The bus won't stop in Summersville though. The choices are: Beckley, Bluefield, Charleston, Huntington, Parksburg, or Wheeling. Which is closest to the fest area? We might need to get picked up by someone to get to the fest when we arrive too if that's ok with someone in the area going to the fest. Hopefully I won't get homesick....:(

Great to have you Hippy Flower, I'm sure there will be rides along the trail.. post a need a ride in the GoodstockorBust group in yahoo groups.

    Smiley,
I can arrange a Hip Forum space at Goodstock, if you would like to head it up let me know. They would still have to buy tickets but I can have a space for HF to gather up at. If the need is there I'm sure I can get a section of campsites together so we can all kinda be close. If enough people are interested in doing that I will need to know in a few weeks so I can arrange the campsites.

That goes for any commune/family that would like to camp together, let me know so I can get it in before the spaces are taken. I'll need to know about how many that will be needed for each 'family'. Remember campsites are included in the ticket price. THe advanced Tickets are still on sale at www.goodstock2007.com so go out and buy your ticket, the are garenteed money back. There's nothing to lose..and omg did you see the band list, dang near 50 bands.. all hot!! at 100.00( 75.00 for advance tickets right now) it's like paying 2 bucks a band.. that;s not going to happen at any other concert/club/or festival anywhere but right at Goodstock2007.

There is no corporation or sponsorship pulling any strings, no commercial interprise, just folks like yourself, people/your freinds here in the forums that have a love for the music and to celebrate it in the fashoin as when it was created.

We would like to have it free, but there are deposits on the place and the bands and all the little details that call for cash. You would not believe it!! We could go with a sponsor but then Goodstock would be just like the other festivals with inflated outragous prices that corporate sponsorships demand. We would be open to the right sponsors, if they were willing to keep prices as they are and no prices goughing at the vending booths..

I cannot express enough how critical your partisipation is in buying tickets earily. The success of Goodstock will be the turning point in breaking the strangle hold corporate has on our music, we can stop that right now right here with Goodstock2007.

It will set a presidenece and will prove we can have our festivals with the bands we want to hear without have prices jacked up to the point of idiocy. One agent wanted 250.000.00 for one act just for a few hours of music. Itsn't it time to say WFT!!! and put a stop to it. Not only that but another agent went as far as saying they could get so n so for another 25K, but failed to see that we already had them booked and for way far less then what they wanted for them. It is rediculas, comtemptable and down right greed.. and shame on them.

You must know by the small price we ask that no one is making any money off the festival. The money from the tickets go to the bands and workers, deposits ect.. With the tickets being refundable you have nothing at all to worry about. If your comin' lets get out there and scoop up those advanced tickets now and show the love..

    Brightest Blessings
